I know, but thought maybe it would trick him and I would be nice at the same time.... kinda like feeding the man a fish and teaching him to fish lesson.

You dont need a bigger Intercooler for our small turbo, Bigger IC = slower spool time

That, and getting away from the plastic endtanks. That's my only reason for wanting metal.

Eventually people will realize that a properly sized intercooler is much better than these behemoths that are out there for this car...

Bigger isn't always better people... just like more boost isn't better! But oh well it isn't my car

Sorry I should have worded that differently EVERY aftermarket intercooler available for our car is bigger than stock one. Some are ridiculous and over-sized and usually labeled "race"...anyone that buys a race style intercooler for a stock turbo fails at life...A little pressure drop is perfectly fine because more PSI does not equal more power. More flow will result in more power. But too big an intercooler will obviously not flow better because the sock turbo does not flow enough air to utilize all the extra space a race intercooler provides.

If only those infiniboost guys running nearly 30psi on a stock turbo understood that.

Yeah, the stock intercooler is supposed to be good up to 400hp right? I'm not touching mine until it breaks and even then I'm not getting a huge one. Just something that's not made of plastic.

exactly, as many say the stock IC is fantastic, its just the endtanks being plastic is the issue. Iv'e been looking around at a new ic but they are just soo freaking big for this little k04.

I agree. Im not saying the humongous IC's out there are better. Something like the HAHN or the MPx that is due shortly is perfect for our stock turbo and for those with bigger turbo. I did see about 1.5psi drop, depending on the days temp, but my power is the same and logs show cooler IAT2s. Albeit, not by much, but cooler nonetheless. I plan on doing the compressor wheel upgrade later on so, its a little better I have the aftermarket IC.
