This is amazing info and should be under stickies

Put a poll and it to be stickied, maybe it will get attention.

Agreed. Sticky material.

Looks like we can't go over 2500psi on the fuel pump without popping a code.

This has great information that can be taken from it for tuning purposes, such as proper max/min bounds for certain settings.

One more vote for it to be a sticky! :cssNET:

I think he might be refering to the "traction off" indicator on the dash.. the only thing I could chalk it up to.. I guess it could look like a CEL if you didn't realize what it was

reign1 08-19-2009 04:10 PM

i was hoping he didnt mean the tire service light

its the electronic stability control ,yellow triangle with a car and squiggle tire marks behind the car its to aid in maintaining directional control of the vehicle . then where the milage shows up it says service esc its an 09 with only 4,000 miles on it wtf

reign1 08-19-2009 04:19 PM

How long has it been on for? Have you had the car dynoed recently? Reason I ask is because the esc sensors (or whatever they are called exactly) in the rear wheels will go a little nutty from dyno pulls (do to the rear wheels not moving but the ECM registering you flying down the road at 130mph) and display a "service esc" on the dash but should reset shortly after the pull.. If not, then it just sounds like the ECM isn't getting a signal an ESC sensor(s) from somwhere.. Just a guess, either way I would do like Reign1 says and take it to get checked out..

I have got that same thing once after pounding through some corners. It just says service esc and no cel appears.

Hey guys i could use a little help. My car just threw the P1589 code, i just looked through the list 3 times and couldn't find it. Anyone aware of what this code is? thx

More_Torque_More_HP 04-23-2010 08:24 AM

P1589 is not an active code for Cobalt and does not exist in the overall master code list for any GM car or truck. Please check the code again.
