LNF Running Temp ?

Just wondering what everyones running temp is once the car is fully warmed up and driving down the road. I've only had my lnf for a week and it seems to run just a bit hotter then on my ss/sc LSJ. My new LNF runs around 192F-195F steady driving. Which is about 90C-93C for us Canadians. What is everyones running temp ? I just wanna make sure mine isn't too high ? Maybe the lnf's run hotter then the lsj's. IDK.. :)

My LSJ used to read around 175-190.

My LNF is at 195-205 constantly.

CudaJoe 05-17-2012 10:20 AM

my running temp is 175-180*F usually. Its in the mid-70's here.

bspeed 05-17-2012 10:25 AM

174-190 .... 60-70s degreese here

Gremlin85 05-17-2012 10:54 AM

A factory stock LNF should run anywhere from 189-199 fully warmed up and cruising. At idle it can see as high as 205 and is capable of reaching 210 (from what I've seen).

Decel off a highway for a long period of time can drop the coolant temps to as low as 180 because of the fuel cutoff and whatnot.

Yours is perfectly normal :)

That radiator is pretty sweet ;)

I can't wait until they're on the market.... no really, I can't wait... mine is leaking :thumbsdow

187-199. Most I've seen was 207. I think if it goes about 230+ you better watch that shit lol.

Crazy thing though, when I'm tracking my car hard it actually sticks about 175. Until I exit and then the temp rises.

Thanks

I think the track situation has to do with the fans coming on when WOT is hit. If you're at WOT a lot, it'll keep the fans going from what I've seen.

Nope. All normal. If you see it carry past 215-220 then you got some problems! lol

Its funny you mention that. I have noticed that as well. With both my lsj and my lnf. If I go wot. It actually drops the temp a bit. I always thought flooring a car would produce more heat and cause the motor to heat up.

tomj77 05-17-2012 11:32 AM

Ur LNf runs at normal temps

mufinman007 05-17-2012 12:08 PM

187 on normal cruising speed on freeway .stuck in traffic stop and go 205 . i was headed to vegas in 110+ weather and car got to 220 with ac on highest i ever seen it go

lol thanks. I have gotten engine nice and hot and it really wont climb when traveling over 30mph. Stays at the ~180 spot. At idle, its gone up to 189-190, but no higher which I thought was pretty strange. One day Im just gonna sit there and watch it for a good 20 mins and see if I can hit those 205's -210's that I remember at the track after 2 or 3 runs (factory radiator) lol.

victoryredturbalt 05-17-2012 12:55 PM

My avg temp is consistant with yours, full warmed up op temp is usually 97 c

blrt 05-17-2012 02:35 PM

84-87c cruising, 92c in traffic. Oem tune 95c in traffic.

AARON-SS-TC 05-17-2012 03:19 PM

mine is 200-210 always, but i live in hot and very humid Florida..hell, it even got up to 223 at the track just after 2 runs

09TcSedan 05-17-2012 06:41 PM

it was about 75 and cloudy here today. the balt runs from 192-205 in bumper to bumper traffic. with the A/C on it runs at a constant 192-194 in bumper to bumper traffic.

when im cruising sitting at like 5-15 in VAC its at about 190-198.

i always get so paranoid about how hot the balt runs. about 1 mile before my exit ramp i am usually doin about 70-75MPH and in that mile its sorta steep up hill and i usually am at 6-0VAC on the boost gauge and thats when my temp rises. i will coast down the exit ramp and sit at the stop light for about 3-5 minutes and thats when i hit 205-208! it drives me nuts!!! but its normal

Exactly how my car is. It's most likely cause we're in the same location too, pretty sick tho seeing 220. I've never seen the car go over 211.

Cobalt_Daddy 05-17-2012 08:54 PM

89-96C is normally what i see 96 on the highside. i saw it go to 110C once and shut it down before it got hotter (that was when my engine went)

YelloEye 05-17-2012 08:55 PM

I see mine at about 185 mostly, peaking at 211 before on a long hard run on a hot day followed by stopping for an extended period of time.

Zander916 05-18-2012 01:43 AM

188-196 for me usually. I've seen as high as 214 but only once.

kzak104 05-18-2012 02:28 AM

when its 28*c out it goes between 85 and 90*C cruising, i dont know what it is when driven hard, i dont drive my car hard often... haha

Speed_Thrills 05-18-2012 08:08 AM

I usually cruise no higher than 185 degrees. At idle, I've gotten as high as 208 I think. But I usually cruise between 178 and 185, and I'm not completely stock.

09TcSedan 05-18-2012 04:09 PM

my buddy is trifecta tuned and it seems that his fan kicks on at like 192. i know mine kick on at 203

QuickSilver_SS 05-19-2012 07:27 AM

It seems that the most part a lot of us are in around the same temperature. So I guess the LNF's do run a little hotter then the LSJ's. Good to know. I was worried the first few days that maybe I needed to flush my rad or something.

mongorat427 05-19-2012 08:49 AM

My LNF runs 180 to 195

Does your car possible run cooler due to your tune ? Or any of your mods ? I had always read that the tc's run rich. And that cars that run rich have a tendency to run a little cooler. Is that right at all ? Cause if so then you would think I tuned lnf would run hotter then a stock lnf ? Does that make sense ?

Question about oil temps, I've gotten mine to 215, is that okay? I've seen the 205 coolant, but what about oil?

With hotter outside temps the oil temp will always be a bit hotter than your coolant, also the oil temp readout is simply a formula since the engine doesn't have an actual oil temp sensor.

Okay cool, we had a record high today of 90*F and we usually don't see that kind of heat until late August and this is my first summer I believe with my Dual Aeroforce Gauges.

Didn't know, but now I do, thanks
