LNF Stock Boost Gauge Questions
My stock boost gauge took a poop and is frozen at 4lbs so I want to get a new one. My question is, is it a mechanical or electronic gauge? I want something I can just swap out and don't have to modify at all. Any recommendations?

the factory one is electronic. so id stay with that, anything else and you'd have to do some custom work. Im assuming you have the base autometer gauge and not the rpd option.
Gm part number is 25800715

Not sure honestly, im still using my original. The factory reads data sent from the bcm so idk if there would be a way to make one work

I just looked at those on ZZP and that is probably what i will go with. You don't really have to mess with anything since it just plugs into the OBD 2 port.

This jogged my memory. When I picked up my early build '08 it didn't pass the pre-delivery inspection because the boost gauge wasn't working and seemed stuck. I still agreed to take the car and schedule to bring it back for replacement but within a day or two I also lost exterior running lights. Turned out there was a pinched wiring harness in the dash that was causing both problems.
So while there's a very good chance the gauge is defective and died, because how it gets the boost information off the data bus and also requires electrical power for the servo mechanism, there is a slight chance it could be some other wiring problem. Still probably worth sourcing a used replacement to give it a try.

I'll give it a look. This car has always had weird electrical gremlins. certain locks won't work when it's hot outside, rear window won't roll down now etc.
