Looking to buy a used SSTC, concerned about porous block issues

I'm looking at a 2008 model year SSTC (build date June/08) with about 60k km's on the clock. Warranty period is long gone. The car has a few bolt ons and a tune giving it about 330 whp.

Is this car in particular potentially affected by the porous block issue?

It might be a little early to be in the main group but there's always the chance. Most with the issue go early but like any fatigue issue it can happen at any time. Mine hit at 72k miles.

I can understand your concern but chances are very slim at having a cracked block issue. That is an early Erin. I'm April of 08 and I think that was the first run.

Bump.

I found another SS, this one is model year 2009 with 170k kms (~105k mi) on the clock. Is it safe to say that due to the high mileage, this car does not have the porous block issue?

On another note, are there other notable issues I should look for when inspecting the car?

Thanks

The 09s were the ones with porus block issues. 08 should be safe. But there is always a chance

I refer to my previous post about miles and chances of porous block.
