no 3rd or 4th gear

Driving today seems.like my 3rd and 4th gear took a vacation was driving fine all day went to.downshift to 3rdrpms just climbed as in no gear same with 4th took a video will upload soon



EDIT-i can put it into 3rd adn 4th without even depressing the clutch

i just had 5th gear take a **** on me. i could get it in 5th with no grinding but it would just send the tach sky high smh. pos transmissions lol. sorry for your luck, our trans are not cheap at all. i ended up getting the HHR SS trans with LSD, unfortunately at quite a price

Sigh so many trans problems .... Think I'm selling mine before I get to deep.
Is it for sure going into gear? Cause if the linkage is messed up you could have the appearence of going into gear and are just nuetral revving.

not mine you hear the loose stuff floating in the trans :'( its like nails across the chalk board to my ears! will be installing the new one tomorrow

If feels like its going into gear but its not its just neutral reving video is up

Also how do i adjust the linkage i have the whole center console off

These threads make me afraid to upgrade the turbo. I'm not really sure man, but good luck sorting it out.

i replaced my shift linkage couple months ago im thinkin it came loose in the center console and it needs to be adjusted again

I have a cable clamp if you cant see it its the left side that seems messed up. Not to be a dick but if you cant help please dont post

maybe the trans side popped off but that would mean only two gears would work ie 1-2 or 5-R thats really wierd to lose two gears at once could have broke the 3-4 shift fork that would give you that sympton hopefully itss something easy

I took off the whole shift assembly in the car readjusted my cable clamp everything still no dice

Update found out dont even need to push the clutch in to grab 3rd of forth basically neutral now

Im going to say broken 3-4 shift fork fits symptoms with no argument sorry to say best worst case scenario. It doesnt make any wierd noises? what were you doing when it happened?

I was driving.normal.before it went out I did a slight 3rd gear pull to move outta traffic then I downshifted to 4th to slow down no 4th

Have you checked the little arm that's mounted on the Trans? It could be loose or cracked somewhere.

This is similar to what happened to me on my first transmission. I wasn't even getting on it at the time it decided to subtract available gears. Interested to hear updates.

sorry to hear about your troubles... the tc have been having issues with trans when upgrading to larger turbos... we need to look for other solutions with our trans... i know someone on here is having zzp build them a 6spd but we are still trying to get people in on the shepard trans build. OP hope it isnt anything to big GL with everything
