going back to stock would require a trip to the dealer if you cant get your tuner to do it. Last I heard wasn't he jail or something like that?

Try a write entire using a stock file with hptuners first before you get too crazy. The worst that can happen is hpt won't be able to load the bootloader and the file won't flash.

OHMERGERD. REALLY? Hasnt this been incredibly old news by now? That was like 1.5 years ago. Hes not in Jail. He NEVER went to jail. He WENT to rehab.

OP the best way to get in touch with him is probably facebook to be honest. I believe the Trifecta part of the file locks anyone out from modifying the file. You could rewrite entire though. I think that works.

afaik this isnt going to work. tried to do this with my friend's car and it would not work. ended up putting the Trifecta ECU in my car and my GMstg2 into his. HPT flashed fine for him then.

Still issues, Got Vinces Tune and the Tantrix cable i have would work. My Tuner says any stock file will not work it has to be VIN Specific.

so either barrow a cable from Vince, Have the dealership flash my ecu, OR buy a new one.. this is frustrating...

you could get a new ECU from ZZP for $200? Get a stock file flashed to it.

For the LNF, a stock file actually does not need to be vin specific. The only thing that does need to be specific is model year and platform (balt, sky, solstice, hhr). The 08 file I sent you should work fine in a normal situation. The whole Trifecta/HPT layer tune is a funky setup though. Sometimes a full write has worked fine in order to rewrite the ecm, quite a few other times though it just doesn't work like others have said. It's just a crap shoot. The problem is that Vince uses a completely custom OS that isn't at all compatible with anything in HPTuners so unfortunately you have issues like this that arise. I think Iambroke actually had a similar issue with his layer tune back when he had his balt. I think iirc the only way he got his issue resolved was to actually send his ecm out to Vince and have him crack/unlock the ecm in person.
