racing seats

anyone ever tried braum racing seats? they look really good and have great reviews. really good price as well, think I may get some in the future

Nope, just left sure they are good for roll overs. Some of the aftermarket seats are really weak in side to side stability.

If you do not have a cage do not put fixed back seats

I saw a guy on youtube doing a review on them, apparently they are really good compaired to a lot of others he has reviewed. every site I went to they always in there selling with sparcos and the other well known brands. so I figured they must be decent. id definitely do more research before buying if I do

^^^^THIS.

Rigid racing seats with harnesses will kill you in a rollover, or at least put you in a wheel chair.
In either a street safety package (collapsible seats, 3-point seat belts and air bags) or a race safety package (rigid seats, multi-point harness, cage, helmet and HANS) all components complement each other to save your life. You CANNOT mix and match. It literally kills.

I would never buy rigid back racing seats and most likely never a harness either , id simply do it cause they look good lol.

That's what's scary, so many ignorant teenagers buying racing seats and harnesses for race car status and because it looks cool. Not realizing how dangerous it is, or doing it despite the danger. Same as completely blacking out taillights and replacing the stock steering wheel and airbag with one of those "cool" removable steering wheels... smh

Are u talking fixed back seats?

riceburner 05-07-2017 09:33 PM

tom,

i too have looked into braum, as they make quite nice looking seats for the price!

the few actual reviews i found seemed really positive -sounds like braum packages and ships their seats really nicely (which shows they care), have really good customer support, and the initial review of quality seemed positive as well. no long term reviews; the only thing i'd worry about is if/how the materials last.

at any rate, i have had my eyes on these in particular, IF i were to get seats. you guys know me, yes, but i'm holding off. but if i were, these would be the seats for me!

I say this all the time, and everyone argues with me. I have aftermarket reclining seats (solely to save weight lol), but I run the oem belt and airbags.

the other thing that drives me nuts, is the amount of 4-point harness people run (on top of what was stated above). I hope you like the water and tight spaces, because you are going for a submarine ride.

I also wonder how comfortable they would be on a longer drive. Tom I would just save your money and stick with the factory ones as they are pretty decent. Just my 2 cents.
