The throws seem pretty short with the stock shifter but could def be tighter.

I wouldnt bother IMO. Worthless "upgrade"...and most of the time, notchier shifts. I could deal with it IF there was a noticeable difference in throw...

TWM is worth the extra $$

You get what you pay for when it comes to short shifters.

I only got one so I could put a new knob on. No one makes a decent knob, so I had a friend make one from Delrin.

I went with the Hurst as well, no difference in shift throw really but it is smoother IMO! I like it better!

i think the TWM is more like 225 but its hands down the best upgrade ive done to my car
if you tweak it right it shifts so damn smooth and the shortness is definatly noticeable over stock

i was looking at hurst and B&M but like the other guys said you get what you pay for probably

Does anyone have the cable clamp from twm? i was looking to upgrade my shifter as well. After my mods it felt like my shifter was "harder" to shift than normal, i was missing gears like the first time i ever went to the track.

The only extra thing I would advise getting is the base bushings. All the other stuff is just aesthetics.

Hi OP,

A short shifter is a great upgrade to the drive-ability of any car as it will make a huge difference in the precision and overall feel of your transmission. Our Cobalt SS/TC short shifter is hands down the best on the market and i highly recommend using it in conjunction with our base bushings and cable clamp setup.

If you have any other questions, feel free to contact us and I'll be happy to help!

Thanks,

Well it depends on what you're looking for. If you want a shift knob that will last, that has a solid way of fixing itself to the shaft, adjustable in height, heavy to help with shifts (made of stainless steel), and looks good, these are all things that cost money.

We use the highest grade of stainless steel (very expensive materials), a thread on design that is height adjustable (only company to offer such a solution), coatings and a finish that will last a life time, and a Life-Time Guarantee.

Basically a TWM Performance shift knob is the last shift knob you will ever need to buy. Seeing as the inserts are interchangeable, if you ever change cars you can switch the insert and swap your TWM Performance shift knob into your new ride!
