Talking Should i run more than 23psi on my E47 tune?

Well? What do you think? 25 psi? More? Im bored and want more powa until the new turbo comes.

And yes i know more boost isnt always more power, but im just wondering if there is more to be had on the E47 tune.

If your still on the ko4 I say no. I would go back to 24 and throw timing at it. Thats just me sure another memeber with more knowledge will chime in.

well with e85 you aren't getting all the heat you would from 93 so it's a lot safer to turn the boost up on e than it is on pump

vince has a 25psi tune thats pretty good actually. a similar bolt on ss/tc with that tune actually gives me a decent run.

but other than that, i wouldnt trust anyone with hptuners to turn your boost up past 24 unless its m-dub, byt, or area47.

well in that case 25psi is probably the best bet, but dont expect a big hp increase. if anything its just going to be a lot more torque like my tune.

Why don't you just buy hp tuners? I would highly recommend it once you turbo swap.

Don't go higher than 23 - 24 psi. Even on E47 the ring lands will suffer above that. THe more power you make, the more heat regardless of fueling.

Lol.. I only trust myself. I mean if trust is the issue, did your Tuner tell you hitting 30lbs on the ko4 so early and in such a low rpm stresses Ure internals hardcore like ringlands and rings themselves..... Along with the lean lambda most tuners tune at youll pop. And before you say I havent popped yet, ask yourself when. Get on it more often and let me know how it works out. tuning over 23 lbs give you a abundance of Tq but the k04 will heat soak incredibly giving it ethanol or Meth covers it up but issues occure over time. So if it were me is do 25 spike and a steady 23 ...

i am still debating what to do as far as tuning for the car, go back to trifecta, or take it back to byt

I'm not saying he can't. but it will be less of a hassle on you unless you own the cable and have time to deal with your trims being off till your tunes spot on.

I will be going HP tuners soon. It's just kind of pointless right now when the new turbo is around the corner.

i feel like it would be the same amount of effort to be honest
its about a 2-3 hour trip each way to see byt thats why i never got my tune revised a while back i just didn't have the time to go back and see him

i mean when i had trifecta when i first got the car vince was pretty responsive and i never had to wait for anything, he was even still helping me out with the car when i made the switch to hp tuners

i mean i do know of someone local that does tuning as well

i am really more comfortable with a tuning solution that can be within arms reach

Here's the thing. It's a proven fact vince can not keep up with his cars.. meaning it takes.him days to weeks to get a csr within satisfactory tune wise. I do repsect vince since he has helped our community but he needs. To hire more people to take his load of work . If you went to say nick you'd be able to get Ure tune done quickly. If your able to run a.certain amount.of e..... I am not at all saying anything.bad about trifecta. I'm just saying it is more benificail to someone with hardly any time to do hptuners so you get it.done.quickly

i understand just playing devil's advocate more than anything, but like i was saying me personally i have never had the delay issues that other people experience with vince, but more than likely for starters i will just let the local guy i know do the tuning

Well make sure your local guy knows the lnf.. if he doesnt don't let him touch it. And if he says he has tuned. Ask him which cars.

It sounds like you're saying that after every fill up on E, you have to get retuned? Or am I reading that wrong? Maybe if you switch gas stations?

That's why I want this thing... Zeitronix ECA : SEMA Award Winning Ethanol Content Analyzer and Flex Fuel Sensor for E-85 and E-85/gasoline Blends

No, a few % change in the E content will move the LTFT's about a point. No big deal, that's why the LTFT's are there. You only have to be retuned for a gross change that will run the LTFT's way out of whack.

If you fillup half E85 and half 93 it'll be close enough once dialed in.

Remember the colder climates go as low as E70 in the winter though. That will shift you ~7% on the blend and you may have to splash in a bit more E85 to compensate.

You don't know if the tune or the driver needs a mod.

Thanks broke, that's what I figured. Didn't think it seemed right to have to do that after every fill-up. I plan to run E47 come Spring so that's reassuring to know the slight % changes between gas stations won't hurt too much.
