Turbo XS 50/50 valve

hey guys, just watched a video on youtube, and IMO this is the best sounding BOV/BPV (what ever it is) i have ever heard on a cobalt. My '10 tc is still stock on the performance side of the car, and i really want to open the "sneeze" sound up. I am getting the GMS1 done in a couple days, i have my K&N SRI sitting next to me waiting to be installed after my GMS1 and after the warranty is up i will be putting an aftermarket catted DP on after i decide what one i want.

any way, here is the link to the vid, im hoping some of you can clear a few things up for me. Is it safe for the car? Will it throw a CEL? How hard would it be to install? Would i keep the stock BPV and just add this into the system? pretty confused guys, help me out!

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/08-1...rested-276233/

oh and it is not a 50/50 bov... it is 100% atmospherical BOV running at the same time the stock BPV is running

my advice: install your k&n then wait and see if you even want a BOV.. the k&n on its own is loud enough for me to fall in love with the stock BPV

so how do i get my hands on the chargepipe with bov set up? does it still perform the same, like say if i were to no-lift ****? id like it to be an easy bolt on. i can work with stuff quite well, but in this sort of set up id prefer strictly bolt on and maybe running a few hoses if needed. i absolutely love the sound in that video. but if cels are an issue, and reliability say further down the road excessive maintenance and break down, its not worth it even tho it sounds effing amazing

The Turbo XS BOV does sound Awesome, Sucks wish I would have went with it before I got my Tial Q BOV I want to change it out with the RFL but not sure how much of a pain in the ass it would be, Since the Tials already welded to my charge pipe?

it will throw CELs... so if you are worried about CELs dont do it... after a month or so you WILL get a CEL... lol

but as for reliability down the road... there is no issue... if installed correctly you should not have a problem with it.

and this is completely false.... drive one week with a BOV... you dont have to get the loudest BOV in the world like the Turbo XS RFL (really ******* loud)

just any BOV... for 1 week... and go back to your K&N sri...

lets see... pop a code on a BOV just for sound... or just run a K&N on its own with no issues but yet have a quieter sound.. hmmmm.. the answer should seem obviously to most I would think but to each their own, Im not here to start anything about it

Turbo XS took the charge pipe with the flange back... owner said he might make copies.. if you read my FB status... now that i see there is some interest... hopefully the owner of TXS should make a few copies.

maybe they can do a charge pipe / BOV combo deal? haha

So i have a 50/50 setup. Heres my story lol. I wanted this setup so i ordered a dejon charge pipe with the hks flange. I wanted the hks flange because i wanted to keep my options open to swap back and forth if i wanted. I figured i would just buy the turboxs adapter. So at first i got my dejon pipe and put the turboxs bov with the adapter plate and it was setting a cel like every day. I have the forge bpv maby thats why its setting a cel more than damastah. But I bought a hks v2 from a friend for 80 and it runs really well now with the 50/50 hasnt even set one cel in the 2 months ive had it. Once i get tuned ill put my turboxs bov back in as atmospheric. It sounded really nice but i was getting tired of clearing all the codes lol. So if you want a bov without a tune get an hks bov.

so basically, if you have an hp tune, you wont have issues with the codes and such because it will be tuned for it?

ok, if i got trifecta tuned tho the CEL's wouldnt be there correct? how does it do with the performance side of things say if i were to do the no lift shift? is it pretty much just for sound? or does it serve an actual purpose? ( purpose or not, if its safe im getting it cuz it sounds incredible!)

I think the new ecp tune trifecta does completely gets rid of the problems caused by bovs and it makes them run perfectly without a maf relocate
