Stage 1 Custom Tuning

Has any tuners started tuning with the new map sensors from the Stage 1 kit???

Im very curious to what numbers we can be seeing with new map sensors and custom tune.

Stock map sensors +custom tune=or- bolt ons=295-330 HP

new map sensors +GM tune=290 HP

New map sensors +custom tune+or- Bolt ons=???????

If we get some numbers. those stage kits will start selling like hot cakes :D

Lots of torque up to 400wrtq at 26 psi. HP could be as high as 360 whp at 24 psi under ideal conditions. Turbo flows 36lbs/min SAE at 24 psi. I have 345 whp at 34.5 lbs/min airflow.

see i dont see how ur pushing those numbers with intake, CP, intercooler, and full exhaust. with ur own tune.

thats insane.

regardless. im still curious on wich tuners will focus on using these new map sensors.

The tune didn't start as his own.

reign1 08-12-2009 11:38 AM

well still. thats more than what most are seeing off bolt ons and a tune.

Yep, but this tune has absolutely nothing in common with that other guys tune and it runs a ton better on the street. I was seeing up to 10* or KR on the street with that other guys tune that is why I decided to tune it myself. It is faster now than it was last time you rode in it.

That's alright. Anyway. I would stage tune mine if I can get the parts for less than $600. Those sensors and the ability to tune for up to 29.5 psi without blowing map sensors is worth it. In another thread someone with Trifecta's tune at 24 psi blew his sensor. I guess Vince's trick to fool the ECM into thinking it seeing 20psi all the time does not really work.

reign1 08-12-2009 12:09 PM

damn. ouch. not good.

we should have tom do a GB. lol

trifectas tune has nothing to do with blowing the sensor.. lol people have blown the sensors on thei stock cars..

It just so happened to happen right after he installed that tune. Yes, some have blown sensors even stock but he had no history of blown sensors until he installed that tune at 24psi. Sportredss has blow out a ton of maps with his BSR tune.

ok lets not turn this into a tuner battle like every other thread. im trying to se if anyone is experimenting with the new map sensors on tuning. and seeing some numbers soon. :)

I want to get my hands on a Solstice or an HHR with those sensors. :)

reign1 08-12-2009 12:20 PM

I want a tuner to get their hands on my cair with those sensors.

If GM ever releases the kit for the Cobalt.

WickedSS2005 08-12-2009 12:46 PM

Unless I'm mistaken, the stage tune is a new OS. The BEST way to go about it is to get stage (1 parts + GMS1 tune) / HPT unlocking and updating program X Custom Tune = BIG numbers

It is a new OS but it can be read and changed using the latest HP Tuners Beta software.

WickedSS2005 08-12-2009 12:57 PM

Well then take time out of my equation lol

reign1 08-12-2009 12:59 PM

people already have the stage kit.

just not ecu reflash from Gm yet

It is under $600...and actually if you know someone at a dealership they may even be able to get it much cheaper. Unless you mean after the GM flash... go find some gm tech friends quickly ;)

The HHRs see 20-22 psi IIRC.
