treadstone manifold fitment question

Quick question to all that have the treadstone manifold. Did you have any fitment issues with the bottom of the manifold hitting the coolant pipe? I've got a sky redline and I've already confirmed that the cobalt lnf and sky lnf have the same coolant pipe. Yet, my treadstone manifold is hitting the bottom left side of the coolant pipe. Just wanted to know if anyone with this manifold had this issue or heard something about this.

Thanks guys!

I've read a lot of treadstone fitment issue threads, but I don't think many people bought their manifold and posted about it.

really, so it's not just me? I've heard treadstone issues on the intercooler pipes and what not, but nothing about the manifold.

And I know that says LSJ, but at the bottom you will see that he bought it used and that the PO already had ground away at it trying to make it fit.

Ya well the reason I'm asking about this is because this manifold is made for an lnf. I'm putting this on a lnf and although the stud holes match up perfectly fine and the right portion of the manifold is perfectly fine as well, its not working on the left side. it touches the coolant pipe pretty bad

Almost seems like theres too much open space on the right but none on the left. I wonder if I can switch the coolant pipe around and it it would still fit?

They don't fit period. I have never ever had one that fits. Grind it till it fits. I've done this I. A number of treadstone manifolds. Also if you intend to run their wastegate provision it won't fit either depending on your wastegate. Cut the flange off and weld an mvs v band flange.

Also chase the threads because the threads are sometimes messy

Damn I was afraid it was going to come to this... Ya I have a tial wastegate and though I havent tried fitting the wastegate yet, I'll keep this in mind. So I guess I'll just grind it then. Not sure hoe much of it I can grind? Since its cast I'd think I have a decent bit of space to grind right, or am I wrong?

I did have to chase one or two of the thread holes because it made the bolt a little tough getting into. They are good to go now.

It sounds like youve gone through a few of these huh?

Yep. Use them a lot.

I have only broken through the castings once out of maybe 12 manifolds. All the rest I have ground with success.

Ignore the extra grinding for the waste gate. That was to smooth the manifold out before welding the flangeName: IMAG0235_zps7ybfgfvg.jpg

wow man that looks great! About how far can I grin until its gets dangerous? Just thought maybe you'd know say maybe something like 5 mm or so maybe a little more? Because my manifold isnt just touching it its like touching it big time. It wont seal on the head completely because the coolant pipe is in the way. If I want to force it with the exhaust nuts then sure itll go on but then will probably start pushing the coolant pipe down. Pretty sure the coolant pipe shouldnt be touching something that gets that hot either haha

Also looks like where you grinded right there on the bottom left side, thats exactly where mine is hitting

Why are you switching to it?
In my recent searchings I have not found anything good about Treadstone stuff fitting.

I'm switching to try it out because I have the sky redline. On my platform the zzp manifold doesnt fit. I have a bigger turbo so stock manifold is a no go. And most of the tubular manifolds that are made for my car are no good because they start cracking over time. I'm really interested in getting the treadstone to work because its a stainless steel cast which sounds bulletproof at least vs the tubular. I really want to make this manifold work

You could mod the coolant tube too.

I don't know how much I take off. I grind it till it fits. Like I said I only ground through the cast once. welded it up and it hasent failed. Have not had a single manifold fail that I ground down. They all really hit. I have maybe a 1/16 to 1/8 gap between the maanifold and pipe.

If you want send me the manifold I'll grind it.

Thanks man I really appreciate the help! As of right now I've done a good bit of research and have come to find that oddly, the manifold fits just fine with a 2.2 or 2.4l coolant pipe. I have purchased one and will be installing it later to day in hope that it will fit. If it doesnt, I will take your offer up man! I really hope this works!

I would of ground the manifold. It does not work with the 2.4 coolant pipe as we use these a lot on the le5 solstice. It has less clearance then the lnf one.
