You can reuse the stock couplers.

I ended up hacking my stock upper so I dont want to end up doing this to my lower. Is it just held on with clamps or is it like the upper where u have to use a flat head and pop it off?

In the cold weather like this you'll need to use a hair dryer to soften the couplers, and a hook tool like this one I posted below (a screw driver might get the job done as well if you're careful). Get the hook in between the coupler and pipe, and work it all the way around the pipe of the intercooler to separate the entire contact area. If it still doesn't budge, get a can of wd40, squeeze the straw in between the coupler and pipe, and give it a little squirt. Do that the entire way around then twist the coupler until you feel it break free. At that point it should pull off pretty easily.

This. For what that tool costs it is well worth it. Works great on charge piping as well as any other hose. I got mine from Matco for $15ish and I assume that's expensive unless you buy snap-on
