*Video* Corsa Touring Exhaust System

Here is a video of the Corsa Touring Exhaust system for the Cobalt. This sounds REALLY good in person but I hope the video portrays it well enough.

Right click save as please, 3.6 MB.

I must be the only one that thinks it sounds like my stock exhaust ? The only difference I heard was at the end but that to me isnt worth $700. Just my 2 cents.

We had some tuning issues with the MAF sensor. We think we damaged it working on our fenderwell intake but there were too many changes at one time to lay blame to any one thing. Best dyno was 272whp with low timing and a screwy fuel curve. We plan on heading back to the dyno soon with stock intake, new MAF and just the exhaust and a few smaller pulleys to try out.

I agree. Our Muffler is already highflow.

dude your stock ones sounds like that, ur gold.

I have never heard my actual exhaust, only from the inside of the car and it doesnt nearly have enough growl/low-tone to my liking.

I guess it depends on what you want out of a performance exhaust. The touring system is quiter than the sport system but flows WAY better than stock. For those who want a great cruiser that sounds really good at WOT the touring is the way to go. If your looking for performance with a little louder more agressive sound then you may want to check out the sport version. We plan on getting better video of the sport version soon.

I have been looking for a clip of the touring on the 2.2 ecotec and i assume it would sound pretty close to the same minus the sexy super "whine", the stock 2.2 exhaust just dosent do it for me!

Well if it flows better than the gains would be better. So to me then the noise is not really what I am looking for. What is the CFM ? Compared to the sport ? Better flow would = less psi but overall better hp so it may be worth it after all.

Also I don't know but it seems like ever since I got my smaller pulley and my cai that my exhaust has a little more grunt to it. Then again it could all be in my head.

From what I understand Corsa exhausts are completely straight through pipes so there is no air blockage whatsover. They use resonance and harmonic cancellation techniques that keep the sound to a suitable level. These pieces are all placed on the outside of the pipe so again there is no air restriction. 2.5 all the way from manifold to tailpipe.

hmm then that may explain why Corsa cost so much. Sorry for all of the attention to detail but to me if someone is going to pay $700 for something they should be completely informed on their decision. Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions.

you're talking about scavaging right?. With 2.5 piping I don't think it would be an issue.

Well anytime you get better flow out of your vehicle your PSI will decrease. PSI is the measure of resistance so if you have less resistance you get less PSI. Cap your exhaust and floor it and watch that baby go to 20 ! Take it off back to 12.5 same hp for both just difference in restriction. So if I have 14.5 psi right now and I put this exhaust on it will probably take me down to 12.5 but increase the overall hp and tq of the vehicle.

Correct, anytime the motor can breathe better your manifold pressure (part of the measurement that indicates amount of boost) will drop however just because you have less boost does not mean your making less power. In fact lowered boost levels due to better air processing abilities of an opened up motor means you can drop pulley sizes and pick up even more power by putting your boost levels back to the point where you were before you made the modifcation to let the motor breathe better.

But then there is the matter of over-reving the super chrager and the increase of heat.

well this exhaust does keep a similar sound to stock just a tad bit louder until wot then it really sounds mean but not obnoxious, if you like a noise maker exhaust then this aint the one for u , just slap on a glasspack lol

While it is true that spinning the blower faster would create more heat on a stock motor if the modded motor was able to process the air fast enough heat would not build up. You would eventually get to a point however that spinning the blower would take more horsepower than the gains from smaller pullies. That point on an M90 supercharger is about a 2.5-2.6 pulley however I don't think anyone has found it yet on on the Gen V M62
