220 degrees help

ok so the thing in my car that tells me my temps and gas milelage and all that good stuff(forgot what its called)..anyway that thing says my coolant temp is 220..why is that??thanks

yup while driving should set around 185 sitting at a light or traffic 220 when it hits 240+ i might get it checked out.

really you guys see temps that high... mine runs around 174 to 178 while driving and if it goes up to 185 in traffic i get worried

yeah my fan kicks in at 217 and running temp is 189

Same. It shouldn't get that high unless you're in the summer sun.

While cruising I NEVER get about 180, I have never even seen my coolant temp about 200 yet. No cooling mods at all.

Nothing to worry about, and not true about the summer sun. traffic, or going through a drivethrough, it's not unusual to get higher temps than normal.
