93 Octane necessary for 2.8 pulley?
Hey guys,
I want to go ZZP Stage 3 with a 2.8 pulley, h/e, 60# injectors, colder plugs, and canned tune (for now). Do I have to run 93 octane or would 91 octane suffice? ZZP says to run 93 but just double checking. If not, could I run a 2.9 on 91 octane?

I live in Ontario. Many of the gas stations only carry 87-91 octane with the exception of a select few gas stations.
Awesome, thanks! Did you just let them know through the comments section when ordering or was it over the phone?

Where in Ontario are you from? I'm from the southwestern part. Really close to the American border. It isn't that we can't get 94 but it isn't available at just any station. If I were you I wouldn't run a canned tune for long. Contact SSKev on OntarioCobaltClub dot com. I will be getting him to retune my car. He is a great tuner and a really nice guy too. I kept running canned tunes and kept frying my cats, so watch out with that.
If you truely wanted to you could run 87 but you would have to dial the timing back to avoid knock

"3.1" recommended for users with 91 octane.
3.0" recommended for users with totally stock vehicles other than this kit, and/or people wanting to stay a little more conservative.
2.9" pulley We recommend a dual pass endplate and 93 octane.
2.8" pulley requires a header/downpipe, dual pass intercooler plate, and 93+ octane."
From ZZP Website.
