Aftermarket Boost Gauge > Stock Boost Gauge
So I'm sure by now everybody has had their issues with our stock boost gauges on our wonderful LSJ motors. Of course when the power is off the gauge shows vacuum, that gets old after awhile. I recently upgraded to a 3" pulley and other goodies and my boost gauge read 14 psi (the stock one) I had a hunch that this was off but I didn't know by how much.
I put an after market boost gauge by Auto-Meter and wow what a difference. The after market boost gauge reads 16 psi at 7000rpms where my stock reads 14 psi at 7000rpms.
I know this has been discussed before and will be again but I wanted to throw in my thumbs up for a vacuum fed boost gauge and post some pictures of my mounting and gauge choice.
Oh yea, and the random picture of my mounted NOS energy drink courtesy of SummitRacing. Fortunately I'm one of the people who live in driving distance of that wonderful place!

Yea, that's why I replaced the gauge and that's why it's reading inaccurate it's all estimated, therefore the reason I replaced it with a mechanical gauge.

just saying, i never had a problem with my stock gauge... temperature could have had a say in the difference in boost pressure. when its cold out.. my stock guage will creep up on 18psi wit a 3" pulley and tune

I like the CF Gauge but that mounting is FTL. That would annoy the crap outta me. Glad you like it though. I have only once seen my gauge reach the factory spec of 12psi and that was at WOT in third gear at 5k rpm after my airbox mod, so I agree that the factory one is less than accurate.
