Aftermarket Heat Exchanger

So this purpose of this is to lower air intake temps even at high boost, and increase HP this way right? So there would be no benefit to have this before a tune than after right?

Just checking b/c i really want one of these but its going to have to wait until after my custom tune.

Thanks,
Ryan

there would def be a benefit... it'll still lower your iat2's even with moderate boost.. check out www.cobalt-addiction.com . they got a nice kit thats moderatly priced and easy to install/... its under performance/forced induction

but my question is... is there a benefit of having a tune AFTER the install? Or either way its the same?

nah... computer should make up for it... just makes the air denser... if your stock anyway... If modded I'm sure you could add a little timing and play with the afr,,,

Alky/water works damn good... heat exchanger sprayer might not work too good because it is a water-air setup... might help a little... but I saw a huge decrease in IAT2 with the meth inj

so how exactly does it work? just sprays into your intake creating extremely cold temps?

yeah... it also raises you octane as high as 116-120 from what ive read... so you can run a race gas tune (ie I"m running 24deg of timing) that and the benefit of droppin you temps by up to 80deg.... ask the LI peoples... my blower is ice cold after hard runs... I love it

ummm under normal driving it doesnt inject on mine... but since I drive like a nut I go through a good amount (sometimes up to a 1/2 gallon a day, I do a lot of parts testing)... good thing is you can run -20 windshield washer fluid which is 1.99 a gallon. I personally mix my own up, usually 50-60 meth/distilled water
