Air to Air Vs. Water to Air

I was thinking of upgrading to the Hann intake manifold and was thinking of what type of intercooling setup to run. Right now I am running a GT2871 and just using the stock water to air manifold. But my problem is that the air temps are killing the MAF i think. Its blow through and its getting up to 240F on a hard run. (IAT2's only get to 130F at MOST) After about a month I get a Maf low performance code and the tune gores to shit. Buy a new MAF and everythigns good again for a month or 2......

So i was wanting to keep charge piping to a minimal so I was thinking of this....

I would use the HUGE water to air front mount that I already have to cool it down.

Thoughts on this VS. running a FMIC and air to air intercooling setup?

i agree with whatever setup you run.

have you considered running a extractor hood to get that heat out of your engine bay.

and are your running meth? i cant remembre if you are lol

I'd say air to air. on my super20G I see up to 280F pre intercooler and then 90F after on dyno runs with just a fan pointed at the interocoler. And I am using a pretty damn small intercooler on my Atom. I should add that I did apply a heat dispersant coating to it before it was installed. I dont know how much that is helping but that may be a big factor too.

...run both? lol ultimate cooling. run air to air, then air to water that way, if the water one is in a bad position for cooling, it cant heatsoak since the only heat hitting it would be the already cooled air that just came from the air to air
air to air as a front mount, air to water wherever it fits

if you cant do this though, then its really just your preference
