It's going to sound like a supercharged 2.0L I4 LSJ, which is exactly what it is. All fart cans sound the same and you can only change the sound of your car so much. It's like trying to dress up your fat, ugly gf. All the makeup and nice clothes in the world can only hide the obvious a limited amount.

That statement I put in bold is so untrue. All fart cans do not sound the same by any means. They very significantly in amounts of rasp, rattle and terribleness......

Because your 280Z has an LSJ in it, right?

Let me be more specific for the less intelligent of you. All fart cans will sound the same ON THE SAME CAR.

If you honestly thought I said that a fart can on a Viper and a fart can on a GSXR-1000 will sound the same then you should go hang yourself.

well the thing with that is, the carbon fiber is just the muffler. and nobody is going to really see the muffler unless they're laying under your car. that being said, it seems like a waste to spend 200 on a muffler that would otherwise be half the price or less.

^^^I will argue that point.. Not all sond like crap.. if you get a cat back say a megan or something.. they sound good.. but other than that... (mufflers on a stock exhuast or some auto zone crap) they sound like crap because thats what they are

We're talking about mufflers, not full cat-backs.

I know but im saying.. just save his money and buy a full cat back.. why spend 150-200$ on a muffler when you can spend 100$ more and buy a full cat back

Thanks guys for all of your replys and I got to thinking and dont know what i was thinking about doing something such as this for its so unlike me. Belive I seen the muffler and really liked it. I really would like to have JBP's full exhaust but almost 2g's w/ header is a little step to me. My biggest problem is I would like to keep it quiet as possible and the GMPP Touring exhaust will probably be my pick when I do my exhaust. I've heard its the quietest. I have someone that could do a custom exhaust and i was looking a mufflers but theres no proven gains its just trial and error, and would sound like crap.

There is a group buy on the megan cat back exhaust system for 330 get that... I mean it sounds awesome if you take out the silencer its low and quiet at idle and loud and low at wot check it out... i have it and its sick then all you need is a dp and a header

Dont quote me on this but i believe that the megan cat proves to have a better hp gain than the gmpp cat back.. its totally up to you but im goin with megan ftw.. its sounds deep and i can tell im pushing more hp and tq through my engine.. actually now i need motor mounts lol.. But like i said the mean i believe is putting out more gains...

^^^ but if you want more gains you could get a new dp and exhaust mani and youll have the full exhuast and that adds to the power

I was considering the Megan over the GM one but just was wondering. I like the Megan for the looks also it give a more aggressive look to it.
I also was wondering if it gets louder than the GM would with the aftermarket header and down pipe change? Knowing it depends on type used also but just over all.

Thanks,
