Bad-Mab Header review
#201
They wobble when threaded in. And I can tell that putting the nut on will just cause the stud to thread in further. So yes, it seems like they will tear the threads out of the flange when tightened.
If the threads were a nice tight fit, I'd just loctite them in place, but they are too loose for that.
A trip to a good hardware store might be in order.
I don't have a good way to tell what the thread size really is.
I have had this for a year now, I'd like to put it on.
BTW.....can the stock heat shield be used?

I'll do that. Maybe tomorrow. I have a great hardware store that just never dissapoints when it comes to this stuff.
I'm not sure what the header is made of? If it's just steel, I could just tack weld the studs in place. But it might be stainless, and I'm not sure if I can weld that.
But this seems like a metric/us thread issue, sometimes they are close but no cigar if you know what I mean.
I suspect that what is being sold now is nicer than what I have. I'll get out the die grinder and fix some things.
Thanks for the response.

Yes, this was made by Cobalt Addiction. From what I've learned, BadMab is now producing it. I bought it from a former forum member who sold his Balt before installing it. I got it for $100. From photos, it is the same thing.

Since this is the header I plan on purchasing I thought I ask this question in here. Has anyone wrapped there header in heat wrap to help keep engine bay temps down? I did this with my GTP headers and noticed a decent difference in under hood temps.

I also have a question, will this header bolt up to my ZZP downpipe? Someone said the flange on the header is a 3" collector, and the flange on my DP is 2.5" ..... What do i do?

Now, to gain maximum flow you would want a 3" downpipe, but it will work perfectly fine with a 2.5" downpipe. Judging by your sig photo it looks like you have a 2.2, so you are better off with a 2.5" downpipe anyways.

Just got mine in and they are purty..... Cant wait to get my down pipe next.
Question... My Megan Racing Exhaust is 2.5 and im looking at the option on the ZZP site; Do I need to select Option 1: reduces to 2.5 in bolt in since thats my exhaust size?

Wrapping is ok for racing, but on the street I have heard that it tends to overheat the header, causing it to fail. I wonder if the stock heat shield could be made to fit?
You could also send it to Jet Hot and have it coated with ceramic, this helps a lot.

No problem man, the stock heat shield, if i remember correctly, has three different bolts, two at the top that bolt to the back of the engine block, and one at the bottom that bolts to the header. You will only be able to use the top two bolts with the aftermarket header. Just takes a little bending (bends very easily) to get it to fit.

Hmm after reading this whole thread I may have to purchase one of these. Fits a 2.4l right? I would run the stock dp and exhaust for like 2-3 years lol. I just want a simple, inexpensive mod for a few extra hp
