zzp s2 tune vs gm s2 tune

is the zzp tune any better? smoother? etc? the gm s2 tune seems to run rich, have problems at low rpms hesitation etc...

they are 2 different setups. the gm stage 2 tune is for 42lb injectors and a 3.06" pulley, and generally safe to run a 2.9" pulley on. the zzp stage 2 tune is taylored to your setup a little better as they give you choices for what injectors you have, what intake you are running, and its generally safe down to a 2.7" pulley (depending on injectors).

all canned tunes are going to run rich though. if you dont have anything more than the gm stage 2 tune and maybe some exhaust and your having running issues its unlikely to be the tune

the issue i have is a stumble between shifting gears, usually when heat soaked. and it feels like it bogs when its very heat soaked. its been 100ish around here and driving through traffic is when i get it the worst.

i bought the car how it is, but it has the gm stage 2 stuff but a 71.9mm pulley. no problems at wot.

i wonder if it would be worth it to have zzp make me a tune, probably not since i want to buy hptuners and adjust somethings myself.. i just really need to get a w/b i dont want to try without it.

are those zzp pillar gauge pods hard to install?

ZZP pillar gauge pods are super easy to install. Running the wires for the gauge is the hardest part of the whole install and even that isn't too bad.

if nothing has been changed parts wise as this hesitation developed then dont retune the car to fix it, you have something else causing it. it would be a good idea to do some basic matinance if you havent, like clean the throttle body, fresh plugs, possibly a new o2 sensor, clean/change the air filter, etc. you never want to start screwing around with the tune on a car that has an issue, unless that issue was caused by new mods.

first step would be to get a wideband. no clue on the zzp pillars, ive got a cluster pod. there is a guy selling some in the classifieds right now, they dont come up to often anymore as they are a hand made thing.

ive replaced the plugs, cleaned tb, cleaned maf, cleaned map.

i havent' done anything with the o2 and the air filter is old. i have another one i plan on putting on i just need a few mins to do it since you have to jack the damn car up and take wheel/inner fender off. so lame.

I'm going from memory (so someone else pipe up if I'm recalling it wrong and there isn't enough space) but there are 6 10mm bolts holding the headlight and headlight bracket in and one wiring harness you have to disconnect then the filter housing is right there
