so i heard that if you get a cai that and exhaust you have to get a tune or else the computer relearns everything and you end up with no gain is this true??

If you have 08-09 SS Turbo then that is correct. If have any other car than you should slap whoever told you that.

Yup, damn LNF's! The computer in a way inceases power or decreases power to always produce 260hp no matter what mods you do. A tune is the only way around this. It's actually a huge help at altitude as an LNF wont be affected nearly as much.

But, on an LSJ this doesn't apply.

Go for it if you just want to make noise. Go for a catback. You can pick one up used on the forums cheap.

depends on the set up....because i was running a TVS, 60lb injectors, meth, h/e, intake...i was tuned at 11.9 AFR and 21* timing....it restricted alot...then i bought a header, 3" dp and 3" exhaust....my afr went ape **** and i had to get re-tuned...changed it back to 11.9 AFR and put it to 25* timing.

As for a prettty much stock car...if you get intake, header,dp and exhaust...you will get gains without a tune, but you will get better gains with a tune.
