Bass_Waves most indecisive build thread ever

Ok so I mite as well keep the car. Was working on it today and got decently far. I just sold the running 2.1l engine so I'm left with the short block. Was going to ditch the turbo set up and go TvS charged but im scraping that idea. I have forgotten how to even supercharge with the cobalt. It's been turbo most of its time.

so far with the new short block. I'm yanking out the Pistons. They are 11:1 comp wiseco Pistons. Going lower. Much lower. Just doing some math at the moment.

Will be shipping out a spare head i have to Josh B for some porting. Hopefully he can save the valve seats.

Will be looking into a f23 swap soon. The f35 trans are getting rare nowadays.

During the bolting on phase of putting my car together. I'm going to be checking up pricing for an electric water pump set up. Hopefully it's not crazy expensive.

I will also be looking into better fueling. I'm trying to see if I'm able to ditch the stock gas tank and go custom fueling all together. It currently has a walboro 450 lph pump with an OTTP return style system. Simple bolt one. Nothing fancy.

Eliminating AC. I def don't need it. I used it about 3 times last year.

Quite possibly route the exhaust for a fender exit. Just have to check how much I can cut before screwing up the integrity of the car. I'm hoping it works fine. Hoping.

looking into a better ignition system. Stock coils put in hella work. Dont doubt that for a chance. I'm just going to see what I can come up with that is a bolt on.

Im actually keeping the ABs funcional. It works so it stays.

Some weight reduction may may be done. Nothing crazy. Depending how much chromoly costs.

600+hp bolt on lsj t coming soon. Or maybe 700. W/e the case may be. Already broke the 500 club anyways.

for coils ive had good luck with the zzp lsj coils. you could use a set of LS coils with plug wires, but i dont think they are gonna gain you anything over the zzp drop in coils.

it is. Those pics are from my engine inside the car. Notice the valve sideways ? Piston has a hair line crack.

Nice! Glad you are keeping it! Luis I would make it worth your while and talk to Jason (LNFWagonSS) or you know him on face book, as I think what he is doing with the f35's is worth looking at. That way you don't have to get all the swap stuff, and have a braved, aligned, stronger f35. Worth a shot.

Aligns 3rd gear and gets rid of the crush sleeve and replaces it with a stouter support. Plus he can wpc (think better than shot peening) process the gears making them slightly stronger and smoother to engage. And he also offers better bracing externally on the case. Not cheap, but probably the strongest trans setup yet on an f35. I will send him my spare 3.82 trans, along with some 4.05 gears I got from Mongorat for him to build me a stout spare. Will swap it in and set back the 4.45 I have in the car now as a spare.

Any idea on pricing? I have a spare F35 just hanging out in my garage, for "just in case"

I don't know for sure, but I would guess $3-$3,500 for the full treatment. But I think he gives you like $400 for furnishing your own trans.

Yeah I remember getting a message from him. He wanted like 10k for a trans with a crap **** ton done. Including the 6th gear mod. I said no way of course. That's automatic trans swap money.

That would be about double what you would get out of the whole car.

Prolly.
Picked up an engine stand yesterday. Getting the block ready for tear down. Swapping the 11:1 to maybe 9:1

worked on my buddies car. A red Cobalt I had there for the longest. Literally from the ground up. Put in his engine and trans. Just gotta finish it and it's driving away. Then I'll resume on mines.
