Hey, I'm finally getting ready to assemble carstedts car finally, after months of issues, but their all getting sorted out finally, so here we go.

Right now, I'm still waiting for a couple parts, so I'm getting the block masked and ready for paint, once I get a nice day out, been too cold lately. but she's gonna be moving along fairly quick.

Diamond .020 over pistons with Teflon side, and ceramic top coats, should hold up pretty well, and stock rods for now.
Attachment 51585

and some nice neutral balance shafts

looks like fun, what was wrong with the 10-1 pistons that he had to order new ones?

had waves in the cylinders that couldn't get honed out, so he had to go .020 over pistons to keep them nice and tight, but he's still got 10-1, just a little bigger, and coated now

TStone 10-21-2012 11:28 AM

Keepin stock rods?

it already had darton sleeves in it, and we only replaced the one that was messed up really bad, the other 3 had waves in it and when the machine shop was honing it out they were already over .010 and their was still waves in the sleeves, so we went .020 and the walls are perfect now.

Tjolley 10-21-2012 02:06 PM

oh ok dartons r alot thicker...ive been told the sleeves get real bad distortion. hmm
good luck
in for results.

TStone 10-21-2012 02:07 PM

they're silly

yeah, the machine shop did a really good job of checking everything out, everything is nice and square, so everything is looking good, the crank was 10 grams out of balance when they checked it, its now all within .5 a gram. so she should be nice and smooth

InfraRedline 10-21-2012 02:16 PM

Looks like it should be solid. Even with stock rods you should have no worries up to 500whp or maybe a bit more if he decides to go turbo and push it at some point

carstedt 10-21-2012 02:21 PM

No turbo for me, i did acquire spray though for when i take the meth kit off :)

they had one at the machine shop

bluebalt07 10-21-2012 02:39 PM

Looking good. I'd say this might be the most anticipated car to have back together on the site. Everyone is always is asking for his numbers and when it's finally back together they can see what a TVS LSJ can really do

Tjolley 10-21-2012 02:40 PM

cool cool...i have to make one cuz none of the shops have one around me.

carstedt 10-21-2012 02:44 PM

Ya i always get asked numbers and videos haha but once im state side ill get sum for people and hopefully will go highest hp tvs w/o spray and if needed for numbers i can spray its for fun
