CEL with intake install

I was trying to find the thread on this subject because i know it's been discused before but could anybody tell me the reason the car would throw a cel after installing an air intake.p.s it's the ebay intake.

Cut off the bottle neck at the bottom. That'll fix your problem with the cel. Also clean your MAF while your at it too. That won't hurt.

Check to make sure there arent any leaks... I had a piece separate on me and I threw a lean code

Right before the maf right?

OrngBalt Aug 28, 2007 04:04 PM

what part are you talking about cutting off? i got the same problem but its throwing 2 codes. good thing i work there and can see. maybe some pics of this or a good pm?

its right before the MAF its smaller, before it gets bigger. i had the same problem, get yourself some stainless steel pipecutters. its a smooth cut. if you dont have one of them, cut it with a sawzall, but be sure to file it down when done. or the cheapest way use a hack saw but file it down when done. hope this helps man

and the filter goes right on?

sick_ss/sc Aug 28, 2007 07:11 PM

yes then start her up and listen to her whine like a little bitch

Sizzle06 Aug 30, 2007 05:44 PM

Cut the bottleneck off the intake yesterday and no more cel.
