Cheapest clutch kit for durability??

So this past Tuesday I purchased a 2007 Lsj bone stock besides Injen CAI. 3hr road trip lol and I fell in love with this car. Got home let my buddy try it out (since his is at the stealership)😂 aaaand he popped the clutch at 5k and melted the clutch 😪 I was so pissed. So now im looking into a cheaper yet durable clutch kit for daily driving. Any good options?https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cob...2b72378b5e.jpg

GMPP clutch and LUK flywheel. Very good setup, OEM feel and extremely affordable.

If he popped the clutch at 5k in 1st and “melted it” then the clutch was already toast. But doing it in like 3rd gear, that’s a different story haha.

But yep what these guys said. GMPP all the way.

Given the axles didn't snap I'd guess he rode it out and didn't actually pop it.

The guy said he just bought the car. Probably didn’t beat on it before purchasing to check clutch condition.

So, since this post is fairly new Im gonna ask a question in here. My LSJ just recently started making a buzzing noise when downshifting, that is felt through the pedal. The clutch still engages strongly but I am afraid I am going to warp something from heat buildup. Car has 120K on it so it is probably time for a new clutch anyways. I take it GMPP is GM Performance Parts? Would this be better to have a stealership install or find a local place? I have a goal of eventually reaching 300 HP, no idea what I am running now, but would this clutch handle it or is there a better aftermarket for modded cars? Tons of other questions but I think those will go in another thread...

I have an lnf at about 400 motor hp and the gmpp takes it like a champ with probably 100ftlbs more torque than a m62lsj will ever make. Best bang for your buck.
It's the "upgraded" lsj clutch kit.

GMPP and make your buddy pay for it
