there not gods gift but they sure make the battle in a world where theres a lot of high hp cars a lot more fun.

 

call up comp... the cams they will send you are not equal length... as are the GMR cams.... they will phisically fit in but will not reach to the cam positioning sensor

 

Any Chance you will go with a bigger blower to take advantage of all those nice parts?
Will you be sleeving the block to make it bullet proof?

 

it does have new sleeves... but they are GM ones... they should be good enough for whati am doing... i do plan on upgradeing from my ported blower to a HARROP soon

... I think he literally means transmission.
Brute power = melted butter tranny.

 

Cryo the tranny... Anything that can strengthen it up. People have blown apart tranny housing with far less power than what you shooting for.

 

i didnt think i had that much power... i am reallly only looking at 300-330...

oh me to... i have seen a hole in a stock SS with 2,000 miles on it... a lot of it is how the person drive though...

those are all the wonderful parts that are going to contribute to the destruction of said tranny

So you mean the intake cam and exhaust cam are not equal in length? Because I'm looking at them right now side by side and they are perfectly identical in length. Plus I've read the Ch 6 of the build book (which are the same cams), and it goes into detail about the cam sensor and how to install everything just fine.

 

the cams used in the build book are no longer built, if they ever even were... look no part number only specs... so i called comp with the specs. they said they have no such part but they can make them... then he said the only cams that he can make are UNEQUAL length cams.... the exhaust is shorter... with cam positioning sensor... so i dotn know what they used in the build book but it is the only thing they do not share the part number.... they have part numbers for other stuff, GM and aftermarket parts...

what do you suggest i do.......

once i get my head back... i am looking for a shop right now to swap my vavle srpings and do a three angle valve job... once thats done it will be on the road a couple days later..

 

They used comp to do the grind, GM provided the cams for them. I think we were just talking about 2 different cams. I was talking about the GM R ones that Area and ItalianJoe used. They were the ones that were designed for the time attack cobalt. That were never made available to the public for purchase until this summer when GM racing decided to clearance out their LSJ stuff to make room for their LNF stuff.

And I think you were talking about the GM Performacne Parts cams that will fit the lsj but were designed for the 2.2. That comp can make for anyone, so since they are essentially for the 2.2 not the 2.0 the cam sensor won't work if you put them in the lsj.
