DYNO Results!!!!!

Sup all the girl VITA from redline fourms had her car dynoed there are graphs and all soon to be videos, she is also doing a stock vs intake comparison to prove a 10 percent gain.
she used a mustang dyno and drove it in 4th gear instead of third!

Is it just me or does it turn you on knowing hot girls driving fast cars :o :p:

here is link: http://******************/forums/show...5&page=1&pp=10

keep scrollign down! youll find pics and vids soon!

Mustang Dyno is usually 2-3% lower then a Dynojet

Hot is relative. We need pictures! :D

But seriously, that's great news and some good runs. I look forward to more data.

Dman 12-28-2004 05:59 PM

yeah, it baffles me as to why he wanted to do it in 4th gear...

i would like to see what the difference in power made between the two gears would be...

good stuff though...i still wanna see what this header will do though...

a dyno run 'should' be done in the gear thats a 1:1 ratio, like 3rd in an auto or usually 4th in a stick... but the sticks on alot of fwd cars don't have a 1:1 ratio in 4th... anyway, was that 3rd run with an intake, or were all 3 runs stock? 186 on a mustang dyno hasta be close to 200 on a dynojet... which is close to 240 at the crank... if they just raised the limiter/redline to 7000, it would make close to 10 more i bet... did u notice that stock, gm rates them at 205 at 5600? they make the hp number lower (for insurance reasons?) just by using a lower rpm, since they make power past 6500...

Zefhix 12-28-2004 08:47 PM

yeah, 4th is OD @.89 but is still closer than 3rd's 1.18. So the dyno's for this car will never be completely accurate. I love how the the HP numbers just keep climbing and then stop dead in their tracks at the rev limiter......torque is silky smooth. Really nice base platform to work with.....over 150ft/lbs. in each gear throughout the power band will feel nice in the car zipping along.

Both the Mustang and Dynojet has the ability to set-up the correct gear ratio so the results are accurate. Depending on the age of the software it will either just ask for gear ratio or do a RPM vs MPH chart that you compare with your real RPM and MPH to calculate the gear.

Either way it really doesn't matter with a load cell dyno because it takes the same torque to turn the roller weather it's in 1st gear or 4th. It's just that in 4th you have more samples per second for data and more time to adjust things if they are not up to snuff. Tire diameter is more important on a mustang usually.<-Over simplified statement, but valid for the dyno.

Don't even try to relate the results of a mustang to a dynapac, dynojet or dynodynamics because they all are different and can be configured different.
Bottom line, try to always use the same type of dyno at least and the same exact dyno every time you test. That way you'll see an accurate measure of increases in performance as you get more things done.

good to know!

AHHH, good to know...

hows that header coming? any more dynos on it?

Vita 12-29-2004 12:07 PM

first off, i'm not a hot chick, ok, i'm a guy, and all three runs were stock, the engine was running hot (coolant from intercooler was overflowing), so these were some real nice numbers, we're going to do another run the same day as the intake is installed to try and get better numbers for the before/after runs. we're coming along very nicely. i bet the numbers will be 190+ if it wasn't running so hot

Icculus912 12-29-2004 03:27 PM

could you put on a dress and a wig so we can continue on with the fantasy?? j/k

great numbers, man...congrats

Vita 12-29-2004 04:10 PM

oh i'll keep you updated, we're working on a lot of stuff, should mostly swap over to the cobalt too, thanks to GMs 24 hour test drive, you guys will have an intake available the moment we can drive one!

Redlinekid_04 01-07-2005 12:10 AM

You go girl!! uhh i mean guy.... ( just kiddin Vita)
