silly question... since the saturn is a front wheel drive car, why were the back wheels spinning??

Voodoosoup Jan 26, 2005 07:34 PM

My guess would be to simulate rolling resistance like you would experience on a normal road.

adjat84th Jan 26, 2005 09:02 PM

Yea, i noticed that too...that's the first dyno i've seen that has that many rollers.

looks like an AWD dyno... having the rear wheels spin would not create rolling resistance since they r not attached to anything... the car spins the dyno, the dyno doesn't spin the car... so still doesn't make sense y they were spinning...

I like it. You have stock exhaust right Vita? Because it sounds pretty good to me, although being in a shop makes it reverb more and seem louder.

i assume they were spinning because the rear rollers are tied into the front ones somehow. it's supposed to do that, it's not like it was a fluke, we've done 6-7 runs, and it happened every time, and numbers were consistant. i assume this would also contribute to the mustang dyno showing lower numbers than say, a dynojet, etc.

without airbox removal, we pulled 186.7 @ 6500rpms, with it removed, we pulled 187 @ 6250, so we'd likely get 195+ @ 6500 without airbox, FYI there WAS a huge difference between 6250 and 6500 during our initial runs, i think it was the difference between ~175 and 187.

so that was a Mustang dyno u were on? so that means the 210 u got would be more like 240 on a dynojet?? which would be like 280 at the motor? doesn't sound quite right...

i got 187.x with K&N filter and airbox removed @ 6250rpms, we got 186 @ 6500rpms stock, either way i don't know where you got 210 from, i've got a few dyno sheets posted on those forums, if you search they will come

but here they are anyway

here

as you can see, we pulled 169.9 stock @ 6250, and K&N with airbox removal pulled 187.x @ 6250, although i cannot find the dyno sheets right now, i've got them at home
