Street tuner challange
Who checked out the first episode of street tuner callange on the speed channel... It looks like the cobalt is getting quite a stage to try and prove itself in the tuner world.

The whp on the SS was 197..consistently with 3 pulls. That's theoretically like 226hp at the crank I'm real interested to see what they do to the LSJ (they showed it being taken apart at the end of the show). Looks like they're gonna put lower compression pistons in there. But the main interest is if they keep the stock blower on there. I wanna see how they modify it, and how much boost they get out of it

I have speed channel on my cable box, but comcast has decided to taunt me and not actually turn it on yet. It's been coming soon since Nov 2004
I am missing all the Grand Am Cup races because of it. Comcast BLOWS. If someone can capture it and upload the segment with the cobalt I would be eternally grateful
I also get a kick that the Japanese team is using a 1993 Skyline GTR, get a new car already
It's almost not fair that they use a 12 year old car because everyone else has to use a new platform and innovate from square one while the Skyline has about 12 years of R&D and products to draw off from.

It will be very interesting to see what kind of engine GM builds for this challenge. John Heinricy introduced himself on the show and he's one of the top guys at GM. He races, designs and gives his input on every performance car GM builds, Chevrolet, Cadillac, Pontiac, etc. GM can't screw this up, the Cobalt SS has to "Git R Done". The 280 whp Skyline with AWD and turbos can double or triple it's hp output easily. I'm not completly sure if it's ABD or another one of those VW companies, but they build very subtle "Triple Threat Cars" that will embarrass the LS1 Camaro/Firebird, the '05 GTO or a '05 Corvette in a drag race, on a road course and gets better gas mileage. It's tuner shops (ABD and XS Engineering) Vs. General Motors, so I hope they don't let us down. GM has to build a legitimate 400-450 hp Cobalt SS with 1.0G handling and 20-30 MPG!!!
