I think I'm going to sleeve my LNF block, 88mm 10.4 cr pistons, head studs, zzp head, LNF crank, and a ported m62. I like the idea of an overrsquare 8000 rpm motor. I'll time the cams to push the peak hp a little farther up rpm range and try to run the stock blower pulley.

Is 240whp realistic?

I like that idea.

I would honestly say about 10 less on stock pulley. , a stage 2 pulley, cooling and fueling could EASILY and safely net you that

myself, i dont think id start with an lnf block, they are known for being porous and can randomly start leaking coolant into the oil. the best option would be to start with a gen 3 block, but for the power levels a gen 1 (lsj, l61) block would be fine.

As sharkey said-if you have the money to spend the gen 3 block is the way to go as it's strongest. By the time you pay to sleeve the lnf it may not be a whole lot more to just get the gen 3.

I've been told and would just like to confirm that with a gen 3 you also have more strength so you can do a slight overbore for fresh cylinder geometry and proper piston clearance (with custom pistons). Is that correct? If so, that is my plan for the next engine rebuild. If not I will re-sleeve a cheap lsj block with those higher strength sleeves that are available.

you don't want to sleeve an 86mm block to 88mm it will be really weak

every low mile gen 3 block I have had my hands on the bore was out of spec the block may be stronger but the cast in place sleeves don't seem to be that great

Is it a bad idea to do a slight overbore to correct the bores?

send to a darton certified installer and DO NOT USE A GEN 2 BLOCK THEY ARE WEAKER AND WILL NOT HOLD A DARTON SLEEVE FOR LONG USE A GEN 1 BLOCK
