Experience with pullies Cobalt SS
 
Hey guys I searched the faq's on the supporting vendors site's,tried to call and left messages,at this point I am turning to the people that have experienced it.I am wanting to pulley my 06 SS Cobalt,I want the most boost possible while mantaining efficiency in the boost temps.I also should add I shift this car way up in the rpm's 7600 or so by way of HP tuners stuff.At 8000 rpm I saw 13 -14 psi with the stock pulley and the boost regulator disabled.Anybodies assistance I would appreciate it.BTW if you haven't raised the rpm limiters your are MISSING out.

Word of caution..... anything above 7500rpm is pushing the limits of the stock springs. Bates engineering offers a replacement set of springs if you plan on reving that high without the worry of valve float. Part number ESGV001 which are good to 400hp.

If you plan on going more.... I would suggest ESGV002 which will accept cams up to .500valve lift. You need to run new retainers and spring seats with these springs, but they bolt onto the factory heads.

Smallest pulley used so far has been a 2.5... you need to machine down the snout to use it.

Belt would be the GM stage 2 belt that would be smaller... PN# 12597993

You can also purchase an idler pulley from Intense or other vendors to adjust the gap,

ZZP sells an adjustable tensioner to also help.

there supporting venders and a great company to work with!
I have there pullys and i'm around the shop quite offten and they are always comeing out with new things for the car and they always look the best by far!

if you want to avoid a smaller belt and or the tensioner and the amount of hassle that goes along with changeing thouse out you can always swap in a biger tensioner...billetflow has thouse as well just give them a call.

ENUFPWR was dead on about the valv springs tho. they seem to be the week link in our valvetrain.
