What is the source of this information? Is this coming from a current Chevrolet Master Accessory List?? (it's not present on MY copy dated 3/27/06)

I called and spoke to a PARTEC rep a couple weeks back. At least at THAT TIME they DID NOT have, nor expected any official installation time to be developed for the Stage kits. At that time I was told that dealers would be advised to simply use the times published in the labor time guide or estimation system such as ADP. (I've got a message into our Partec rep today to see if that's changed)

The "problem" I was told was the shear number of seperate operations for the Stage kit installations. For instance for Stage 2 (complete) you have injector replace (4), supercharger R&R, pulley R&R, belt replacement (overlap), VCI Reflash, and Crank Variation Relearn. SPO Partec representives are generally only accustomed to developing a fair time for a SINGLE operation (eg cost to install a set of running boards, or to install an extruded exhaust manifold) BUT once mutiple operations were involved- their only point of reference is the labour time guide.

To the best of my knowledge AT THIS TIME, thre is no published labor time for any of the Stage kits.

What I CAN tell you is if I was a drivability tech and asked to perform a Stage 2 kit installation for 1.5hrs I would just refuse the job. There absolutely is no rationale for the kit installation to be 60% less than the warranty flat-rate times published for these operations.

You can get it installed elsewhere, but it says VERY CLEARLY that they will only be covered under vehicle warranty if they are installed at a GM dealer.

We can't delete threads just because they have to do with the stage kits. We can merge them, but only in cases where it wouldn't hijack another thread.

WOP, any idea what the install time for Stage 1 would be? ie, just the flash and the injector. Cause i was just told 4-5 hours for Stage 2, and i am assuming most of that is the SC portion of stage 2.

A stage kit faq sticky would be useful. That could be something we can work on once more people have it and theres more conclusive information.

Where does it say that? In the documentation of the kit?

PARTEC line has been updated for the kit part numbers. This was done when the kits went on sale on 3/30/06. Also ther is an N note listed electronically with part number in service data base.

Stage 1 has a 1.0 hour time listed with the PARTEC line. Have your dealer call and get confirmation.

Look up underwood chevy and call about it... I just got off the phone with them stg2 is on backorder and stg1 is ready to go !

Great thanks, (still waiting for my call back from Partec)
Now the tough part will be how to find a drivability tech willing to lose .5 installing the stage 2 kit.
(Stage 1 isnt so bad)
Sure wish they would have had KM issue a pulley remover/installer tool !! (not a fan of putting the SC in a 20 ton press)

I went to a local dealership today and the parts guy I talked to wasn't even aware these kits existed. We went online at the shop, came onto this site got the part # for stage 1, he looked it up on his computer and said he would have to check with the U.S. for availability. He then, without hesitation, said it would be an hour install time for stage 1. And that was because 1 hour is their minimum charge time for this type of work.

Its not a question of it being a bother. It the fact that other threads get knocked pages and pages away becasue there are 2 pages of stage kits. Not to mention what it does to a newbie and the search function. How about the mods make a couple stickeys. Or just merge the kits into a couple catagories. Start from scratch with something like this:

Stage 1 Kit info
Stage 2 Kit info
Stage Kit FAQ
Stage Kit Dyno's
3rd Party Kits
Misc Stage Kit Info
Stage Kit Dealers and Prices

Instead of on page what we have now:

GMPP STAGE 1 and 2 KITS ARE IN (Multi-page thread 1 2 3 ... Last Page)
Stage kit dealer install time (Multi-page thread 1 2)
Stage 2 installed outside dealership???
Stage 1 Review (Multi-page thread 1 2)
No More Stage Kits Threads!!!
Stage Kits Price and Dealer Location (Multi-page thread 1 2 3)
Stage Upgrades Vs. Gas Mileage
JohnKB8 & R33P3R (Multi-page thread 1 2)
Stage1/2 Question
GM Stage 2 Reflash Only?
intense stage 3 vs GM stage 2 (Multi-page thread 1 2)
Info from GM about stage 2+ (Multi-page thread 1 2)
Stage 1 installed!!! (Multi-page thread 1 2 3)
Stage 2 kit employee price
Stage 2; Up And Running!!!!!!!! (Multi-page thread 1 2 3 ... Last Page)
"The price is right"
Worried about clutch giveing on stage2? (Multi-page thread 1 2)
GM Stage 2 Injector Size?
GM stage kits or 3rd party kits? (Multi-page thread 1 2)
Stage 1 & 2 Dyno Results?!?!
GM stage 1 ordered today...

Look at that 7 Threads i made and that should just about cover everything we need to know about the stage kits. And maybe even start deleting and/or moving posts as the come in when someone asks a qestion that has been asked a million times! And not for nothing but the "Ordered my stage kit bla bla" and "Got my kit in the mail today" or "Stage kit installed" isnt really tech talk its more of lounge talk btw.

The comment about not moving or deleting because of hijacking is kinda weak. I dont think there is one stage kit thread here that hasnt been hijacked.

I'm also going to have my CAI installed at the same time.

If you install the kit and drive to the dealer for the flash the warrenty will be lost.

just to let all of you know that it dosent void your warranty if you install the kit yourself period this is directly from the mouths at crate engine depot these kits are gm performance parts and if your able to do it yourself it dosent hurt the warranty all you have to do is to go get the reflash and pay the 1 hour labor charge to do it now if the kits werent from gm performance parts division then no matter who installs it you **** the warranty part of the car

It's in the GMPP Catalog, right at the top, it's considered the same as the supercharger systems...

So install by GM dealer = full warranty coverage, install elsewhere = 12 months on parts, but if it screws up the engine you've got no warranty on it.

I have my kit right here beside me! Now the bad news, THEY WON'T INSTALL IT!!! Basically it boils down to him saying because it voids the factory warrenty they won't install it because of potential legal issues. I tried to convince them that the factory warrenty remains in effect but to no avail! Can anyone help me with some proof that the stage kits DO NOT void factory warrenty?!?!? Man that pisses me off so damn bad. I went off on that *****.
