GM stage 3 ????????????
GM stage 3 ????????????
Hey guys. I'm thinking going GM Stage 3. What's the difference between the two? Does either of them up the fuel delivery? I am thinking of buying a gm stage 3 pcm from some one, and I have a set of 60 lb. injectors. Will GM Stage III even utilize these? I know that it has an adjustable rev limiter. I've also heard that there's a boost cut-off @ 12.5 psi. Please help.

There is no boost limiter/cut with GMS3.
I have been running the GMS3 PCM for years now.
GMS3 is an upgrade to GMS2. It comes with a smaller pulley 76mm vs GMS2 77.9mm, dual pass endplate, unique PCM with an adjustable rev limiter, high octane mode, and the ability to run nitrous.
The GMS3 default 93 octane tune is much more refined/better than the GMS2 tune. It commands a leaner AFR (11.3) & 21-22 degrees of timing. High octane mode adds an additional 4-5 degrees of timing.
GMS3 is setup to run 42 lb/hr injectors, but if you get a custom Trifecta tune you can run pretty much any setup you want while still retaining the great GMS3 features.

GM Racing Stage 3 PCM with Trifecta unlocked A/C
Yes, as it comes from GM Racing, but Trifecta can unlock it for you.

Now I am being smart. LAST PAGE OF THE FAQ YOU WOULD SEE MY POST. It says this
"
WOW guy. See post number 634. It's just a few up before yours."
And the post I'm referring to, says this
There, I did it for you.

I just read the last few pages of the this thread, and it is question after question. If people would read from the beginning of this thread, all their questions would be answered. I am by no means trying to be an *******, but people need to do a little research of their own.
Cliff Notes (common answers to questions):
What comes with a GM Stage kit ?:
-GM Stage 1 = 42 lb/hr injectors & tune
-GM Stage 2 = 77.9mm pulley, hub, shorter belt, 42 lb/hr injectors, & tune (same as GM Stage 1 tune)
-GM Stage 3 = 76mm pulley, new pcm/tune, dual pass endplate, & uses injectors from GM Stage 1/2, & hub from GM Stage 2.
Are GM Stage kits covered under warrenty ?:
-GM Stage 1/2 are covered under warrenty. GM Stage 3 is for off road use only (no warrenty).
How much boost do the GM Stage kits make ?:
-GM Stage 1 = 12.5psi (same as stock)
-GM Stage 2 = 15psi (on avg.)
-GM Stage 3 = 15.5-16psi (on avg.)
How much horsepower do the GM Stage kits produce ?:
-GM Stage 1 = 236hp & 205tq
-GM Stage 2 = 241hp & 218tq
-GM Stage 3 = 248hp & 260hp w/ 100 octane & 310hp w/ nitrous
*All GM Stage kits can/will make further power with the addition of supporting mods ie. intake, exhaust, cooling.
How much quicker will my GM Stage car be ?:
-GM Stage 1 = 0.3 sec quicker in the 1/4 mile than a stock SS/SC
-GM Stage 2 = 0.7 sec quicker in the 1/4 mile, & 0.5 quicker to 60 mph than a stock SS/SC
-GM Stage 3 = No numbers from GM, but I have managed 0-60 mph in 5.2 sec, but I'm also fully bolted. A standard GM Stage 3 car would prob. knock a tenth or two off of the GM Stage 2 1/4 mile times, and prob. be a tenth quicker to 60 mph on 93 octane mode. On high octane mode or nitrous, it would be much, much quicker.

While we're at it, here's the info you will need for Trifecta from Pyros777 (I'm back to not being smart). https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/2-0l...-3-faq-214518/
Good info there right at the top. Hope it helps.

wow mini you should be coming right along with your car. I am sure that trifecta can tune everything that you need into your stage 3 pcm. With these cars if you have the money and more money, someone will hook you up lol! Good luck. The harness should be there Tuesday. When I drive down to SC I'll have to stop and see your car.
