Thumbs up GM Stage 3+ Methanol Injection Installed!!

Yes, at last!! My mechanic and I finally finished installing GM Stage 3 + the coolingmist methanol injection. This set-up feels good!!! I'm heading up to Palmdale's LACR in California on Sunday the 21st to see what she'll do. The last time I went there with Stage 2, Intake & exhaust I couldn't grt traction so I ran a crappy 14.90 @ 98.90mph. This time I have the polyurethane motor and tranny mounts and that did take away wheel hop, but there is a little wheel spin now (better than wheel hop) so it's not to bad. So with my currect mods of GM stage 3, Pacesetter header, catless DP & methanol injection, let's see what she can do!

I'll post a video on youtube so you guys can check it out!!

You have about the same mods as me, before exhaust I ran a 14.2 @ 108 with crappy traction, Im hoping to get in mid 13s. You should be around the same give or take here and there. Good luck tho! how do you like the methanol injection and how hard was it? Im thinking about that mod next. more info please! lol

Ok just got back from the track and here are the results:
Outside Air Temp: 104 degress F
Elevation 2710' above sea level

Best run with Methanol + 100 Octane (100 mode on): 14.80 @97mph.
Best run without methanol & 100 Octane mode off: 15.30 @93mph

Just for comparison, there was a stock SS SC running high 15's at low 90's mph. He was stock with the exception of the exhaust.

My buddy ran his 240sx with a turbo clip, air to air intercooler, injectors, turbo back exhaust, hks boost cntroller LSD diff, ect clutch, oil cooler, and over sized radiator.
His best time was 14.2 @ 98mph.

Also want to say whats up to the GM eternal guys that were up threre!!

So in conclusion the meth injection doesn't work properly if you let stage 3 inject it. In other words only nitrous will work. It felt sluggish and slower when I let the PCM spray it in. So I by-passed it to my dash switch directly and I sprayed it & it worked much better. It would probably work better if I get it HP tuned. I don't plan on getting HP tuned, so im going to purchase my Nitrous kit on Monday, & remove the Methanol. So the methanol is going up for sale. Also, im going to put in my electric cut out.

The last time I ran my 14.90 was with stage 2, intake, exhaust & 2.8 pulley & the weather was in the 65-70 degree range at night. So i must admit that 100 octane & methanol did help and if the temperature was better, it would have definetly broken in a 13.

Laters!

Damn with a trap speed of 108 you should be able to get into the 13's easy.

umm, weather hasnt been much different up here in VA as florida guys down there. we went to the track friday 88 degrees 80% humidity and we drove our cars 80 miles to the track and started racing as soon as we got there, didnt even let the cars cool off and he still was running 13 flat. Just wait till fall he should be close to hitting 11's or low 12's

sorry I should have looked at this location, he is in Cali. His elevation is 330ft according to the web and norfolk is almost even sea level at 23ft. The temps is appears today in Los Angeles was only 80? I don't understand how he got that kind of a time unless he can't launch which would explain alot. I would add axels to your list of things cause with that shot of nitrous all the sudden will definitly make something go snap!

The track is in Palmdale, which is a desert. at noon, according to the car's outside temp was 104 degrees. Where I live in Mar Vista, it's in the 70's right now. The track is 2710' above sea level

http://lacr.net/week.html

scroll to the bottom. If I correct my time to sea level, I should be at about 14.36

Dont put to much weight on the quarter mile time, look for increased MPH for power gains...these cars are not build to launch& are harder to w/ mo power! Practice makes for much better times if that is your goal. These cars are made for the track....road track that is!

I was going by your location in your user tag to get information. If that is the track you went to, then ya I would imagine just driving there and and doing one or two runs at that elevation is going to be around the times that you posted. Actually to correct your your real time you should be running faster then 14.36, I was thinking about 14.16?? Perhaps my formula I have it based off something different.

In any event I hope it was fun
