got a quick question. ok so I called up the dealership and asked them if I needed the stage 1 and 2 kit, and they told me that I need them, both. I thought that all you need is the stage 2 cause the stage 2 comes with the bigger fuel injectors and smaller pulley and the re-flash. can someone help me out and let me know if I do need the stage one before the stage 2 please. that would be a big help thanks

All you need is Stage 2, you DO NOT need to buy both

yah most dealerships are not familiar with the staged upgrade kits.. so they pretend.. but sure as hell you only need stage 2.. not both, thats just nuts of them to suggest if i were you i'd take it to another gm dealership not as dumb. to be safer.

lol yeah I think I will go to another dealership. the main reason is cause the dealership where I bought the car from is about 45 to an hour away and thats just too long to be driving just to get it installed, I'll just go to the one right down the street from me lol. and I'm sure someone is going to ask... the reason whjy I went to the farther away one is cause that was the only place that was selling the ss/sc don't know why but oh well

Question!!

Do you guys know how much the Stage 2 Kit costs if bought from GM, and is anyone possibly selling the stage 2 kit for a lower price? Does the stage 2 rob a lot of fuel economy?

yea.. hit the classfieds page.. a couple for sale on there and cost of gm stage 2 varies from dealer to dealer I seem to have noticed. If you dont care about your warranty.. then just piece your own stage 2.

Yes,

I also wanted to mention that with the GM Stage kits you won't void your warranty.

There has been some talk that dealers are to report vehicles that have been flashed with out the GM flash. This may affect your vehicles warranty.

Anyone here live in Maryland and had a stage 1 or 2 done by a dealer and like the work that was done? I am really picky about who works on my car and want it done right! Thanks.

What I did when I had my stage 2 kit put on was go and ask for the service manager at the Chevrolet dealership that your thinking of having it done at. Get a feeling for the guy and go from there. If he seems interested and doesent just blow you off then you have a good service department. I went to a couple of dealerships before I found the one that I wanted to use, and the main factor was personal feeling. It is not a really complicated procedure, but one that you want to have done correctly and with a certain amout of care.

The best thing to do is to talk to your dealer service rep. Some dealerships are more performance oriented than others. Bob

Can you/is it safe or o.k or efficient, or ill advised to run a 2.9" with a S2 tune. Is it a must to have the car re-programed, or re-tuned after the 2.9, or even the 2.8??? The reason I ask is I'm gonna get the stg2 this week, and I was thinking of putting a smaller pulley on it, and I'd rather save my self the $$$ and not re-do it if I don't have to.
Thanks in advance.

this thread needs a good cleaning

I can't find any useful info to answer my questions and I'm not reading every post!

If anyone could answer these for me....

Stage 1 MPG vs. Stage 2 MPG (average)

And which GM tune runs the richest?

That's all.
