The Stage 2 kit says you will make 245 horsepower.. is that to the wheels or flywheel?

GMS2 is rated at 241hp @ 6400rpm & 218lb-ft tq @ 5400rpm.

The Cobalt SS/SC horsepower rating system was crap since GM underrated it from the get go. The 241hp rating is closer to the actual whp than bhp (crank).

On average a standard GMS2 car will dyno around 230-235whp.

I am Fairly new to all this, I have a 07' Cobalt SS s/c and was about to order GM Stage 2 when I was reading some threads and I couldn't help to Notice that a LOT of you have MODS from ZZP, But I'm Assuming if I went the ZZP Way I would have Issues with my Warranty Correct? Also, Whats the Difference between the 2(GM Stage 2 vs ZZP Stage 2) if any? Thanks

GMS2

3.067" (77.9mm) pulley
42 lb/hr injectors

ZZPS2

2.8" pulley
60 lb/hr injectors

The tunes are completely different between the two, and ZZP offers cooling mods with their Stage kit. Although, stock cooling is decent enough for GMS2 and the 77.9mm pulley.

Has anyone here gotten the GM Stage I or II kit installed recently? From what I have seen in some posts GMs latest revision of the calibration set the rev limiter back to 6500 RPMs. I don't know if this is true or not, hope not. That's going to make it a hell of a lot harder to tell if the dealer actually installed the reflash correctly if it is 6500

Can anyone here who has gotten this kit installed within the past few months or so confirm which is their rev limiter, 6500 or 7000? I was planning on getting the kit I have installed soon and just wanted to see what it is first so I know what to expect

LOL thats awesome that u can put on a stage II, get around 25% more power AND get better gas mileage AND have it done under warranty AND its not even that expensive!

Werewolf SS, i don't have this upgrade yet either but im convinced. Given that its GM parts under warranty, there really isn't anything to lose, I'm doing this upgrade ASAP. From all the research i've done, the only thing u might need to worry about is blowing out your axle or somehting because its not made for ridiculous power. Or, the supercharger could wear out faster, but a 3" pulley really isn't that much smaller considering many are running down to 2.8" or 2.6" without huge problems.

I have Stage 3 on my S/C SS but it's great, and the ONLY cooling mod I have is the S3 H/E no dual pass yet and my IAT's are under 150 on WOT pulls on 90+ days. Can't go wrong with ZZP IMO they did they best with me as far as any questions or concerns possible!

Question: I got my ss/sc with nothing done to it but the injen cold air intake. NOW, if i get the GM stage 2 installed by them with the canned tune, would the intake mess with it? also, im planning to get the GMPP performnce exhaust... can gm tune it or would someone else have to because im under warranty here.. but want stage 2 like dogs want sticks

thats really a matter of opinion, my friend. the tc's do have around 45 hp more stock, and a few other tweaks with the suspension and visually which is all very nice. of course, now that these badboys are out, the sc's are soo much cheaper.... i could have got a tc but went with sc for the blower whine, its one of the things i wanted the car for in the first place. get the stage 2 kit and ull be running about what tc's do stock so thats my position.

It wont void warranty if you go only stage 2 and have it installed and/or flashed by GMPP dealer, Even then you have options, Buy the kit that is Pulley kit and belt and injectors, And install these Yourself and just have the dealer flash, Or have the dealer do all install/flash, I got a good deal on my kit for the 07 IRL i had and was the first one to have it the day they released the 07 flash with an 04-06 kit Which i was told wouldnt work! so i had the dealer do all labor for about 500$ Like i said options! In total about 750 about three years ago!

quick question..didn't want to go through all this mess ha. is the stage 1 reflash the same as the stage 2 reflash?

I was thinking about getting stage 1 then getting the stage 2 pulley/belt from my friend who I just found out works at our chevy dealer and he said he can do it all for me, figured it'd save me some serious $$
