GM teases us a bit more.......
So as some of you know I have been trying to get GM to give up some more info on the 300+hp build. I got an email in reference to pistons as well as a little bit of a tease about future GM plans for our cars. Read below for more info.
Hi, Rod.
The pistons from the 300hp build were from Diamond pistons. We also work a lot with JE pistons. If you are interested in a new piston, I would suggest contacting JE or Diamond and telling them that you want a production-replacement forged aluminum piston that increases your compression ratio to something between 9.7 and 10.0:1.
We are working on an off-road box that will allow you increase your rev limit, run on 110 octane, and/or use a 50shot of nitrous. Please remember that there are a lot of hurdles and concerns for GM to release these types of calibrations. Because of all the issues that large companies are subject to, these types of things are typically done in the after-market.

I'm old school
The Drive Shaft Shop can make a performace half shaft for you as well. They are expensive. An even thousand for a set. And you won't have to replace your hubs or drive flanges like when using the Grand Am set up.

I hope they plan on including some beefier cam springs w/ that "off-road box", I thought 7k was around the limit for the stockers? That's pretty exciting news none the less.

INTENSE has piston assembly for the LSJ insale right now with 10:1 and 10.5:1 comp. ratios.
as far as the Valve components, JBP has them for sale now. you just gotta find a way to program you ECU to a higher Rev Limit. ( yah I know Easier said then done )

we have written programs for the axles and will be making them in about
2-3 weeks, if you need them sooner what we have been doing is haveing the
customer send in the axles and we re-use the factory inner c.v. and make it
chromoly out from there. the factory inner is a mild chromoly and is good
for about 350HP to do this is takes about 3 days and the cost is 600.00 (the
complete axle will be 800.00 for the pair 400HP) you are welcome to post
this info if you want.

As for pistons I talked to Todd at Intense and he recommended (for my plans) to go with the 10.0:1 which I have. Also I went with the JBP stage 2 head because of the titanium springs and retainers.
Also for Canadians I found a place in Ontario that sold me the cluch in my signature for $810. Can shipped.
