Harrop TVS 1320 advise please.

Hello all the UK calling

wonder if I could ask for some advice.

I have a Harrop TVS 1320 installed on my 2.2 Z22se running an lSJ TB the internals have all been upgraded Low comp pistons, balance shaft deleted and running comp blower cams. 2.8 pulley.

I am on the oem ecu which has been re-maped for this setup.

I am having trouble every so often, after hard acceleration I am loosing control of the throttle the ecu goes into limp mode, however I do not get any ecu error codes. I was wondering if anyone here has heard of such a thing happening with the Harrops.

has anyone heard of such a thing happening?

Many thanks

its not the blower causing it

yeah the tvs is just a paperweight really. something in the ecu and or motor

My first guess is the throttle body, whether it be wired up incorrectly or not tuned in properly.

JapEatr 05-06-2013 04:11 PM

mine has done that as the maf gets to the top of the map

He has no MAF on his Z22SE (European L61) ecu.

Nick, sounds like the ecu loosing control...

Need to look at the predicted airflow and make sure you are not exceeding the limits set. If you exceed those limits the ECM will go in to limp mode as it believes that the throttle body has malfunctioned and is in a run away mode.

exceeding limits. check the airflow limits.

Thanks Chaps appreciated

I have had this on and off for some years and never got to the bottom of it I thought it had something to do with my setup, however another chap here bolted on a TVS recently and has exactly the same thing. Unlike yourselves the Z22se ecu has not been fully cracked and so the tuning firm (both used the same 3rd party tuners) have been trying to tune without full access. Excuse my ignorance any idea how I check/correct if I have exceeded these limits? I don't have access to all the technical data from the mapping sessions.

I will do some searching

Can I import this car into the us?

Bump, Area can you elaborate on the airflow limits? Which PID are you referring to?

pretty much what the saturn sky came from =p

JapEatr 05-16-2013 03:46 AM

I am still curious as to how to correct this?

Area47 05-16-2013 10:52 AM

you need to look at a data log file and see where the maf peaks at. if you are maxing at 16k hz. scale the calibration.
