Yeah I still have the downpipe... If I knew it was gonna sound like this I might as well went catless! And I wouldn't have spent all that money on the corsa! This sucks..

I had a catless setup w/o rasp while running my Corsa catback. What kind of gaskets are you using for the header to head, header to downpipe, and downpipe to catback connection?

Never waste the money on the ZZP gaskets that come with their downpipes. They are not GM quality gaskets, and do not seal well. Also, the Badmab header gaskets are junk as well.

Here's what to use....

A genuine GM manifold to head gasket, genuine GM 3-bolt downpipe to manifold gasket, and a Remflex 2-bolt flange gasket for the downpipe to catback. I can guarantee that will solve some of the rasp. Rasp can be generated from the smallest of exhaust leaks.

Haha You did warn me... Header gasket is just the one that was on when when I took the stocker off header to downpipe was the stock gasket too. Cat back two bolt flange is the gAsket that came with the corsa sport. I used my stock gaskets because I bought my header and downpipe used.

I tried many different gasket combos man.... What I have now always works.

If I didn't just use my spare Remflex gasket for my new downpipe install, I would have sent it to you.

Are you running the ZZP 3" Downpipe?

OK i finally put it in last night! i know, a little late on this one.

my initial thoughts are this:

sounds quiet/stock at idle.

sounds good if you're cruising lightly, just a tad deeper and raspier than stock

mash the gas, its raspy. buuut not too bad, kind of a lsj raspy. i'm gonna try to take a few vids today

i have a 2.4 but ive noticed i have rasp until the cat warms up. im guessing ts the spun metal expanding that quiets it down.

i have a ZZP Mid-legth Header, Catted DP and GMPP Cat Back.

yea, zzp longtube to stock catback.

so yea it pretty much sounds like a baffler in the muffler gave out or something, very ricey. i'm pissed. still dont have vids yet, sorry haven't had the chance.

was someone saying something about replacing the resonator to reduce rasp?? i just can't live with it like this

The stock catback with a hi flow header/downpipe will sound raspy....

A better resonator & muffler combo will help out.

yea... what did we decide it was, a 22" resonator that the stock system has? i'm gonna look back in this thread instead of being lazy but i forget if we has a solution to this...

also i think i'm hearing a bit of a leak now, probably time to retourque all the bolts make sure thats not the problem.

yeah... lol i'll do that first before we start jumping to conclusions.

also, i realized my muffler is clamped on to the rest of my catback, not welded (i had a shop install it) so that's probably not helping out either. so i'm gonna go get that welded too.

THEN, (THEN!!!!) Vids and hopefully le no rasp

update! tightened all the bolts i could, got the muffler welded on. found out one of my header bolts wasn't even tightened yet. now, it is MUUCH less raspy, as someone said earlier small leaks can create lots of rasp. now this thing sounds much more like stock, just a good bit louder and more tone. there is still just a bit of leak somewhere i gotta find. once i do and dont hear the leak anymore i'll assume thats as good as its gonna get and take vids then.
