How many broken axles driving normal

My daughter was driving home from Cheerleading practice, so she leaves a stop sign turing left makes it through first gear reaches for second and nobody is home.

Both axles twisted off at the outside joints.

The only viable explaination I can come up with is that the Posi has locked up some how turning it into a spool and twisted the axles off going around the corner.

Or somehow the axles sustained some damage 6 months ago at the track and let go now, I don't know so I am asking if anyone else has experienced this.

I can understand if she was pulling holeshots but she assured me we save that for the track.

I towed it to the Stealer, and they said No Warrantee Abuse FU########C#K

power hop did that. contact OTTP for mounts to fix that, and deal with what happens to the car when you are not looking. You were a teenager once. Male or female makes no difference....so you say "The only viable explaination I can come up with is that the Posi has locked up some how turning it into a spool and twisted the axles off going around the corner."
I say BS, power hop. no need for an inquisition, the daughter will own up to it eventually

I even told her, make your Dad proud! tell me you were burning out or something.

She swears to me car just made a clunk during the turn.

It has good mounts, good Stage 4 Clutchmasters, she races it during the summer months, so I am no stranger to beatin on cars.

Wheel hop is all but eliminated.

Just trying to figure it out.

I broke one on the track. It was wheel hop related and it wasn't the first time I hopped down the track like a Bunny. I have traction bars and mounts but it doesn't stop it all with those big 18's. I have never had the problem on the street. But, I have never heard of anyone breaking an axle not wheel hopping.

I don't quite understand what you describe happened to them they "twisted off"? Mine broke at the thin spot where most people have problems.

I have about 2,000 miles of just hard road course driving on my car along with a few auto-x days and nothing like this has happened to me.

were the cv boots ripped? maybe they went allowing dirt and such to get into the cv joint and break the axle. I beat the **** out of my car with auto xing and drag racing, I have 65k miles on the stock clutch and axles without a problem.

I'm honestly with the guys saying she was doing a nice 1st gear pull. It probably hopped and she didn't let off

lolz

my experience with wheelhop ended in a cracked tranny, and a mainshaft that sheared off and whipped my gears to pieces like an egg-beater haha.

Sounds like a pretty heavy duty clutch in there. I know if I'm not perfectly smooth with my 6-puck, the whole car will buck back and forth really bad. I wonder if she wasn't smooth on the clutch engagement when going into second causing a sudden shock shearing both axles.

my motor isn't rotated, and i have no hop.

but to the op, it sounds very unlikely that in normal driving they just popped like that. sounds like there's more to the story. a kid lying to their parent because they don't want to get in trouble for doing something they shouldn't have been doing? impossible
