No its just that Hondas have an aftermarket support which makes things half the price.

What's the difference between a well built b18 or k20 to an ecotec. Parts are much cheaper so u can do much more. Cobalt guys always cry about traction. A well built civic will easily have 3-4k in suspension mods to put power down. That's why

400hp civic = 10s and low 11,s
400hp cobalt = low 12 if they are lucky.

I agree.. my old 04 ls sport cavalier ARGUABLY had a "nicer" interior.. At least the dash had soft touch AND the e-brake handle was shaped to actually fit my hand. Oh, and it had an armrest..... That thing we ran up to 165k miles with literally NO problems except regular maintance. Never shoulda sold the damn thing.. Fun to drive and got upper 20's lower 30's always.

I Dont because nobody in the cobalt world does suspension mods besides coils to be STANCED and then complain about bad track times and 2.5 second 60fts. I'm not saying guys on here Dont do it. Its just far and few between.

No I'm just saying there really aren't many well setup cobalts. And I stay on this site for the daily laughs you guys give me.

I haven't had too many issues with my SS/TC, but still way more than I want.
  • Sensors fail
  • Dragging rear brakes
  • Key stuck in ignition
  • Driver side window button stuck in up position
  • POS Interior
  • Creaks and rattles galore
  • Rubber trim pieces can easily pull off
  • Bluetooth mic causing buzzing sound

I can't seem to think of any other issues I've had other than rapidly depreciating value and crappy comfort level and ride quality.

Honestly, the engine seems to be great. I don't think I'll have to worry about being stranded on the side of the road, but I feel like there's better options out there.

I came from an LSVTEC Integra, and the power jump was enormous, I didn't wanna spend money on a turbo to just have my car get stolen.

For the money I think this car is great, are there better options out there? Sure, but this thing is cheap and easy.

If it wasn't for the SS/TC, I'd be in a GTI or RSX Type-S right now.

My next car will probably be a Focus ST, Lexus AWD IS250, or GTI/CC/Jetta GLI. The biggest void in my car life right now is interior luxury.

90% of my driving is speed limit so perhaps thats why I haven't had too many issues with my car. I don't know, but my experience is good and my complaints are aesthetic mixed with comfort.

best bang for the buck drag car is a fox body 5.0 mustang. you can make one of those into a 10 second car for like 10 grand.

best bang for the buck road course car is a c5 corvette. you can get a used one with high miles for 11 grand, and completely stock it will ***** basically anything else that you put 11 grand into around a road course.

I like my ss/sc. I bought it for a reliable winter beater, and so far it's been great. It comes with a great package as far as comfort and performance. It's something that I wouldn't have to put any work into to have fun in.

If I was actually trying to make a fast fwd car, I'd rather drop the 12 g's I spent into a CRX, but that's work. I've always thought those were pretty neat though.

Honestly though, I would never try to make big power out of any fwd car. A fwd platform is a big fail and waste of money from the get go if your goal is performance. The only reason I even own a fwd car is for the snow.

I think the GTI is a better car, but it has it's failures. Odd ones too.

My buddie has a GTI and hates the amount of maintenance he has to put into it. Plastic around his shifter is falling off. Eats through oil like crazy, CEL comes on all the time, sun roof opens randomly, AC stops working randomly, gas cap doesn't always open etc.

Mainly electrical, but still. That can be expensive.

I think just because it's a 'cobalt' you automatically give it **** because it's cheap.

I know Mazdaspeed 3s have plenty of issues too and same with WRXs. I think it's a stigma associated with the cobalt that makes failures more 'Loud' to us.

I could be wrong, just an observation

if you need to put 10 grand in a fox body to run 10s you don't need a car period

that's including the cost of the car. probably it would be even less than that. if you can't make 10's after putting 10 grand in mods into a fox body you are probably a retard lol.

beyond fail
You are half of the fail frew was talking about
You argued with me when I said false to the op. Yet now u claim u can run 10s in a fox body for under 10k. Does the op have less than 10k into his car? Does the op run 10s?

The answer would be NO to both so when I said u could build a Honda or other car for less than the op has into his car and put trains on him, why did u argue?

And I know that nobody on this awesome forum likes Hondas but u can't tell me that u can't build a crx or civic or teg for 12-14k that won't **** rape his Hahn 20g cobalt
