replace the pistons, if you wanna play...its been said the pistons are weak...get some forged ones, they can be replaced by pushing up from the bottom, remove the oil pan, keep the rings, bearings make sure you put them in the correct spot and if you change rings hone the cylinders.

 

what do you mean by 2.6 and robs tune will DO your pistons.

 

He means it will do them in, like they will eventaully crack or get holes in them.............................................. ...................................

i treat my car very well in retrospect i shift at about 2.5k and dont run the **** out of it, at the track it was a different story

 

I'm not Rob, it's not my tune. I would imagine that I and several others have more power than you, and we're fine. I don't think it was necessarily too much power, but too much HEAT, and probably some KR.

 

i got you and rob confused lol but yea it might have been i need to have it monitored and checked for all that, we sorta tuned it and i had to be at work so it was quick

that's the first thing i bought along with my setup was an aeroforce interceptor gauge.... i also have the snow performance water/meth kit to keep the KR down for when i switch to the 2.5" pulley.. if it wasn't for those 2 things i probably would have ended up in the same scenario.. definately the scan gauge for sure. i have mine showing me manifold psi and KR.. but i do agree.. heat was the cause of it

 

Ummm, Hate SAAB....

GM had nothing to do with this engine, That is why it was rated one of the best in the world..

 

Brian is right. SAAB is stamped all over the engine. Its the same engine that comes out of the SAAB 9-3 i think but those are turbo'd

 

SAAB is owned by GM, isn't it?
