IAT 2 temps

Hey guys! I got my scan gauge fixed and put in (it was broke when I got the car), and I brought up my IAT 2 temps as something to monitor. I noticed this morning (temp was 37* outside), that the IAT was around 80* on the highway. Thought that was fairly normal. However, in the drive thru getting breakfast (about 10-15 minutes) I saw temps of 140*. I thought that was relatively high temps to have with it being that cold outside. Thoughts?

Likely need a new pump. Or you have a massive air bubble.

Temps climbing while sitting at idle with minimal airflow is perfectly normal on supercharged car. Cruising temps being 40 over ambient doesn't seem too crazy to me if you are stock cooling-wise.

I have dual-pass, phenolic spacer, LSJ h/e, ZZP S3 front mound h/e and my intake temps are 25 over ambient at cruise and can climb very high while sitting around idling but the drop immediately as soon as I take off and start pulling more air through.

I have a ZZP he and the LSJ he...my assumption is yes my pump is bad....I did some googling on it and I don't think I've ever heard it running...I'm getting ready to take my lunch, so I will do some basic testing....I guess it's supposed to come on after about 10 seconds of turning the key on. I don't recall ever hearing a buzzing noise like I did on my kenne bell mustang, but that pump was super loud lol. I will probably be ordering a pump off amazon along with my sway bar bushings....I'll update on what I find out.

EDIT- No sound from the pump at all, no antifreeze flowing either....ordered a pump...Thanks guys!

A little noisier when it has an air lock but really quiet when running which is why I have an air purge flowing back into the Option B tank.

Lsjs have to be started for the ic pump to come on. They don’t come on with just the key forward unless it was changed in the tune

If I recall correctly, the pump will turn on after 10 seconds with the key in the on position but not started.

matholland618 04-13-2018 07:06 PM

It turns on after 10 seconds key on engine off....I have changed the pump out and iat's are what I would have originally expected. Thanks all!

jdbaugh1 04-13-2018 07:59 PM

What are the IATs you originally expected if you don't mind me asking?

chevygirl2006 04-13-2018 08:14 PM

Not the stock ones I’ve seen but cool I guess
