IAT2 Temp Keeps Rising w/ Dual Pass
 
When at Idle, my IAT2 temps run up to 164 degrees F, i was wondering if this was normal with most people's setups. I just installed the aerforce interceptor so that i could watch intake temps and knock issues, and i'm not sure if my setup is running efficiently.

At normal cruising on 78 degree day i see 112-130 degrees IAT2 and at full throttle it runs up at about 140 as well. while sitting it goes 150* plus, i know this is probably due to heatsoaking, but i thought dual pass would keep it from happening. Or does it just prolong it from happening?

After my car warms up i never see below 100 degree IAT2's. I just installed the GM Dual Pass setup B and believe everything is installed correctly and even checked to see that the intercooler pump is running

(BTW i'm running a 2.9 inch pulley, CAI, Headers + 3" catback and just polished and mildly ported the supercharger). Oh yeah, and i love how the Interceptor gauge said i put out 272 hp.

162 !!! i got the 2.8 with 60's i never see that high in traffic most ill see is 140-150 thats when its like 98 degress outside

well, for the most part it hangs around 150's, but it slowly creeps to 160 after 5 minutes of idling and barely moving. Do you have a Dual Pass Nightrider?

i juts have the stock one i thought the dual was suppose prevent that hmm.....

okay, sounds like your pump might be getting disconnected.
Just to make sure, get under you car, and turn it on, You will see the pump under there. Look at the connector and make sure that no water from the AC is falling in the connector. If thats the case, everytime you stop at a traffic light, water will drop straight down from your AC since air is not moving it and will create a shortcirquit and make your pump turn off.
As soon as it dries up, the pump starts working fine.
To fix this problem, simply tape up the connector and no more water will go in there.

Thanks for the info, i didn't know that connection was so fragile. The thing is i never run my A/C, i just keep my windows open, that can't be the problem. Plus, i idled the car in the driveway and checked that the pump was working, and the IAT2 then was still up to 152.

I have the dual pass and here in riverside its been in the 100s.
Today for example i was out driving my car and at a stop light it would rise to 158.
Soon as i started driving it droppd back to the 130s.
WOT nets me high 150s.
But thats also because im running a 2.6

you should also do a comparison with your IAT1 temps and your IAT2. because if your temps 1 are at like 120 and your temps 2 are at 150 then you intercooler system is doing a pretty good job. It should be between 30 to 50 degrees ccoler

Ya my iat1 temps really get up there.
I think at one time i saw 130ish and iat2 was still at 150ish

Wow, I envy some of you guys. There are days here that I park my car for a little while and hop in and see temps in the 170's. They cool down to the 150's pretty fast, but at every stoplight they will jump back up to the 165 range and then drop back down to the 150's. That is what I get for living in the fing desert, I need cooling mods bad. Hell I hoped in my car the other day and my outside temp gauge read 133 degrees!!! I took a pic with my phone just because I could not belive it myself. It gets Fing hot here in North Las Vegas!!!

i'm seeing 65ish outside while still seeing 99-112 while crusing around, on average it keeps about 40 degrees from ambient. even when it would hit 160* the IAT1 would be below 100 still.

mine never go above 150, ever, on a un touched cooling system :D

Any chance of Air being trapped after your option B install? 160 seems to be high for a 2.9 .

Water Wetter will help in droping the temps to! Just destilled water & Water Wetter is all I am running & I see about 125 sitting still at 90 degrees outside! When moving just about what ever it is outside! But I am also running the dual pass H/E, So in affect I am running a Triple Pass

I figured the option B was setup in such a way which bleeds air out of the system. I have the hose hooked up to the top of the heat exchanger going to the reservoir tank. I even took off the hose thinking it may be plugged due to the .040 orofice and it started to puke out more coolant.

i ran my car with the reservoir tank cap off so that it would help depressurize and let air out of the system, i only did it for a little bit, but i'm not sure if it helps or not.
