Lets Talk 60lbs Injectors...

Alright,

I’m looking to upgrade my injectors to 60lbers and after reading various threads on injectors, and visiting the vendors I have some questions:

1) Is flowmatched really worth the price difference?
2) How do I know for sure that the vendors claim (that they’re flow matched) is true?
3) OTT seems to have the best deal currently (+harness $230)… Anybody seen them elsewhere for less?

Thanks for the input guys !

i think lightning performance sells them cheaper, but i like OTT.

flowmatched is def. worth it, especially along with the power levels requiring 60's.

what size pulley are you running?

1. No
2. You dont unless you send them somewhere yourself, but all should be from the manf regardless if they state it or not
3. Lightning Force Performance I believe is less

I'm running 2.9 right now on the 42lbs !

I want to drop to 2.7 now that I've investing in cooling mods (CX H/E and Dual Pass Option B and also meth. in the near future) I can afford to drop pulley size a little bit since my IAT's will drop.
But from the many threads on pulley sizes on this forum, anything below 2.9 on 42lbs is pushing the limit :(
So I'm looking into upgrading them to 60lbs asap.

Was just wondering how important/crucial flow matched injectors are as opposed to normal. Thanks for the info.

So in your opinion flow matched is not worth it.... interesting !!
Thanks for the info RP ;)

More comments are appreciated !

well, IMO, flowmatching doesn't hurt, can only help, as well as allow you to make the power more equally, and the better the balance in a motor, the better it runs, we all know that. i say if you're spending the money, you may as well do it, and Lightning Force Performance flowmatches them if i'm right, and OTT may as well also.

i will be running a 2.7, 60's, Dual Pass, CX H/E, option B and meth soon as well. i personally think it's a good solid setup, not too over the top, but yeilds strong reliable results. if done right the first time that is.

i got mine through lightning force and they are awesome

lsjwannabe 09-08-2008 11:33 AM

We sell flow matched 60's and will price match if someone is lower :)

Do they need to be flowmatched?

No, it just makes tuning a tad easier in the long run on the fuel side.

That's indeed about the same setup that I'm aiming for.
Let me know your thoughts if you realize it before me. I expect it to be awesome.
My planned completion date is Oct 30th. :)

Yeah, they have it's $5 cheaper, but they don't offer the harness. If I don't find them cheaper anywhere aelse, I'll just go with OTT to support the vendors here.

Where did you get the harness

Well, LFP is $5 lower and shipping is FREE..... Can you match that
In that case it'll be a no-brainer ;)

I recommend www.ottperformance.com for there flowmatched 60lbers. Thats where i got mine and they were all flowmatched and within spec! I would buy them from www.ottperformance.com over any other site because they are a vendor here, they have quick shipping and great customer service.

curious why you would say flowmatching isnt worth it.
yes the chances of your injectors having a large variation is quite small,
but if they do, one of your cylinders could be quite alot leaner than the others, and you wont know it.

JimzSS 09-08-2008 10:03 PM

does any one know the link in here for the ecm change for 60s?

Darkmanx 09-08-2008 10:04 PM

^^^ WHY ARE you still here.

RollOver360 09-08-2008 10:05 PM

Heres some food for thought..... the stock injectors from the factory are not "flow matched". SO do ur aftermarkter 60#'s have to be....? That is the question...

later

some more food for thought....

my number 4 piston after running an aggressive tune with an unflowmatched injector that wasnt providing the commanded fuel.

we call that bad tuning where im from. pass the blame on the injectors and not yourself?

Damn....

Even though the tune might have been 90% at fault, in order to minimize problems I guess flow matched is the way to go after all ;)

I'd feel really bad if were to break something later on, just because I wanted to save $15-20 by going non flow matched initially!

no since i have 20+ cobalts running just fine...plus the injectors were tested...between the heat and the aggressive tune this is failure.
