Ok I have a question. I am tight on money right now but I want to upgrade from stock to a zzp stage 2 with 42# injectors and a 2.9 pulley. Would it be alright to wait like a month before i get a h/e if i don't rape the **** out of it and drive it normal maybe getting on it every once in a while? Thanks.

Hmmm, I think I will def go option 2 and maybe add a few extras once that is complete.
This was a great read for a Cobalt novice like myself.

I think it atleast has to be included on the list as a possibilty considering it's pretty darn safe and easy to do on an LSJ. Especially with GM Stage 3 or Trifecta Stage 3.
Did you miss the last build where I put in nitrous? Yea nitrous can be safe... if its a low wet shot. IF you dont have a built motor i'd stay away unless you want to burn some money

tops 300? but my friend you are missing the triple +++... which means I can not estimate bc at that point your either making serious power or you are in the 300's.

Yes you'll be fine, just make sure your h/e pump is still working and you dont do to many back to back runs bc you will only get slowerrrrRrRrRr and that civic will eventually beat you

Still taking PMs if your really lost or want advice. OuT

why you recommend staying at 2.8 and don't go 2.7

Your not as warranty conscious as the previous mentioned route so your lookin to make some decent power but don't want your car to run into problems down the road with CEL's or extensive wear and replacing parts more often. THIS IS THE BEST OPTION IMO, lots of fun and it's not going to bite you in the ass later, trust me on this one.

Your Mods are:
42lb Injectors w/2.9 Pulley: You will need to find a shop or a tuner to do a tune for you and or install (requires pulley press if your stock)
Aftermarket Intake or Stock Airbox Mod: Blower whine =
Header Downpipe Combo or Just Downpipe: If your sticking this route stay catted, catless has minimal gains and on SC'd cars and it is very very loud. This option you'll preferably want a 3in. downpipe with 2.5in exit. GO STAINLESS
OTTP STG1 Rotated Mounts: No wheel hop, enough said.
Aftermarket Heat Exchanger: Dont skimp on the money here buy a good one and be happy with keepin the temps cool so you can beat on it without being choked by your stock H/E rampin up the temps after/during pulls.
Optional: 2.5in aftermarket exhaust will have some benefits here down the road and if you want a different noise comin out the back then take your pick of exhausts, BUT stock exhaust will not hinder you.
Optional: Wideband and/or Interceptor here will give you data on the car (how its running) and if you want a tuner to tune you, you need the wideband.
Your WHP Avg on this setup will be from 250-265.
Ok,
I'm looking at going Route 2:

-->I have the 42# Injectors (some people say I need 60s for a 2.85" Pully, If I tracked alot, I would go for it, but since I don, Im sure my 42s will be fine.)

-->I have a 2.85" Pulley, only 0.05 inches from 2.9 close enough

-->I Have a tune (Aftermarket PCM will get returned after feuture mods)

-->I have aftermarket Intake, ZZP 3" Intake and yes Wine =

-->Still Need Header downpipe: Thinking of getting the 3" DP and Header from ZZP, What's this about a flex pipe though? Thinking of makeing this the next mod

-->Still Need OTTP Stg 1 Rotated Mounts (How important is this? What do they do?)

-->Still Need Aftermarket H/E (Its getting cooler out now, so I think this one can safely wait till next spring)

-->I have Interceptor with wideband sensor kit

personally i would say go 60#'s but thats just me trying to be on the safe side

the flex pipe moves more when you get more upgrades(power wise) so you should get trans mounts or engine mounts.

the rotated mounts keeps you from having wheel hop, i love my stage 2! it also saves your axles and flex pipe

the heat exchanger should be fine, but check don't do back to back runs as said earlier in this thread.

the wideband and interceptor are good to have so you can monitor how everything is going

good stuff 2.85 on 42s is pushing it but i dont know how high your idc's are. h/dp combo i would just do the most research you can and decide, im kinda hesitant on recommending zzp right now..... lol. Yes youll be alright over the winter for your h/e so maybe you should grab the opt/b till you get a h/e . and yes get the stg 1s!

Hmm.

I gained hp passed a 2.9, but I do agree that a smaller pulley is really only beneficial for gaining torque.

It looks like I'm in between routes 3 & 4 (more so route 3) in guide. Great right up by the way !!

My dyno run didn't show me leaning out at the top end, so my injectors can handel the 2.85" Pulley, But Ive read some where that its not good to run injectors that hard, but since its my DD and I dont race it I think Ill be okay,.

So whats a good Header/Downpipe?

e85 is a whole different ball game and only those privileged enough to have e85 gas stations by them know it far better than me because a lot of people don't have access to e85, so I didn't add it to the guide bc of that reason :-P case in point theres only 2 e85 gas stations in nj... sooo yeaa lol

This is Great, I wish LNF did something like this, it's all about tunes, but parts guide would be nice.
