LSJ Supertech Valves Question.

Has anyone installed these on a stock head? I have a few bent ones and I ordered stock size Supertech Intake & Exhaust ones from THMotorsports.

My question is, is there anything special I will need to do. I am pretty competent on installing parts. Did a turbo swap for a buddy and have the head tore off of my car already and just waiting for these things to ship. I haven't found a how to on an install or anything other than the LSJ Power Book.

Yes they're just a drop in part. Nothing else required.

Why didn't you just get stock valves? Half the price...

Stock valves were $170 from ZZP. I got Supertech ones for $250. Bought ZZP 82# valve springs and tit. retainers to go with them.

And I won't have to mess with the valve seats at all since they are stock size?

Does anyone know the stock length of the intake and exhaust valves?

mrbelvedere 12-15-2013 10:25 PM

you will need to get a valve job done

For what reason, and how much do those cost?

Bluelightning 12-15-2013 10:45 PM

Because the new valves have to mate perfect with the valve seats or they will just leak.

sl0wlsj 12-15-2013 10:46 PM

How much does this job usually run? Should I get a 3 angle?

Bluelightning 12-15-2013 10:49 PM

Ask your local performance or machine shop on pricing. No need for a 3 angle.

Always a good idea.

I recommend lapping the valves to see how they fit

Just a basic valve job would do it?

are you dense

A 3 ANGLE or very thin seat is preferrable. Your answers are on here every one very reasonable.
if you are buying supertech why not the springs?
really in your case you should ship your head to ZZP and get them to re do it for you, that way its plug and play for you and nothing to worry about. Unless you have an Indie shop install the head for you, another good idea.
its rare to find Indie shops that will do valve jobs anymore. You can buy complete heads new for under 500 so its hardly worth reconditioning what you have. good luck OP!
